October 1, 200322 yr I am not a "loyal fan" of Gary Summons but I do enjoy his scenery.I certainly object to someone starting a thread with the title "Fly into or out of EGKK a lot? Forget UK2000!" and find it strange how "Jeff Nielsen_OSS" appears so soon after the post by someone from BAV (are they as bad as the real British Airways I wonder?) to publicise his product on these forums. Not at all professional Jeff Nielsen and BAV.Let the FS community make up its mind on your products first rather than publishing defamatory thread titles about a product used and liked by many thousands of FS fans worldwide.
October 1, 200322 yr LOL!Firstly, we can't control what another wishes to write (in both your case and BAV's), secondly, Jeff immediately wanted to point out that it wasn't posted by him, but by someone else advertising the product, we can't control that lol. I have seen other posting by many people within these forums stating upcoming products, even before they are formally announced.I think you've made your opinions perfectly clear, and your going a bit over the top, and yes it is a free world, so let's leave it at that.http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/36133.jpg
October 1, 200322 yr Fair enough that the thread title wasn't the best choice of words maybe but it didn't really bother me and I am a happy owner of Gary's airports as well....I don't think any malice was intended by the guy but just enthusiasm for a new product more than anything...;-)CheersDave
October 1, 200322 yr $25 is around 21 euros. I've seen far too many products at a similar price not worth that. This one is.This thread was NOT started by anyone linked with our company. It was started by one of our forum regulars. We didn't ask them to, we didn't pay them to, we didn't force them to.Jeff was very angry that his account had been hacked and he consequntly phoned round the company finiding out if any of us had posted it.Whether you buy EGKK2004 or not is entirely up to you. Personally that's all off my mind now. I'm just happy that whenever I load up FS I can fly from the most realistic EGKK and feel proud at the work I and the team have put into it. Building EGKK, the world's busiest single-runway airport was not someone's patented idea. It just happens to be a very popular airport not represented good enough for me in the past, and my local holiday start.Put it this way. I would rather a few versions of one airport come out than differing ones. Why? Because it forces people to improve them and raise standards, thus we end up with better quality addons. That's all I'm going to say on the matter.

October 2, 200322 yr I started a thread on the BAV Forums about this scenery as I thought, fellow members would like to know about this scenery. Only 1 Press release was made and I'm sure people probably forgot about it after a few weeks. I am no way involed with OSS and I live only a about a 30 drive from Gatwick and I have visted it many a time, including a trip airside. This scenery is more detailed than the current UK2000 Scenery, I do like Gary's work, I'm looking forard to the release of the new Heathrow scenery, but this is a free world and people are allowed their own comment, BUT you can take it too far. BAV is a virtual airline, in many peoples view one of the best in the world, its forums are only accessed by BAV members and as I'm told BA itself also have access to the forum. OSS are not paying anyone as said to publisise this scenery its just people who like it, and want to tell others about it.
October 2, 200322 yr Downloaded and paid for the scenery this morning. It's worth every cent/penny.Yes I have got Gary's scenery as well.Frame rates on my PC are mid to upper teens which is impressive considering the detail (around lunchtimes the firecrews practise on a DC10 hulk at near the end of 08L hosing it down)My specs are:Pentium IV 2.66GHZ1012 DDR 2700 ramSaphire Radeon 9700 proBest RegardsTerry2ml SE EGKK
October 2, 200322 yr Hmmmm, the syllables "idi" and "ot" spring to mind. Good reply by John, won't add any more on that.$25 actually compares very favourably to Gary Summons' individual EGKK price. Gary's work is very good, but this appears to be slightly superior. That is no reflection on either party.Individuals will make their own minds up.
October 2, 200322 yr lolMr "Senior Captain BAVIRTUAL" (hmm do you make anoraks for your day job?)I think you should consider avoiding posting defamatory thread titles if you wish to avoid negative responses from others. If you can't take it don't post it!
October 2, 200322 yr wow the support here is great :)just so everyone knows...$24.95 isn't a lot of money...its around 21 euros, and
October 2, 200322 yr well by posting defamatory replies you're making yourself as bad as him, it has to be said.
October 2, 200322 yr Oliver, What some seem to forget here in this, is it, isnt it debate is the fact that you, in the past have done an a lot of work for Mr.Summons of UK2000 fame, it would appear without much credit. (I'm also aware of many freeware past works of yours.) Perhaps people should realise, you've moved on, flown the coop to bigger and better things.Oliver, good luck, the pricing of Gatwick at
October 2, 200322 yr Well, I bought it this moring and have to say, as I said to OSS via email that this scenery is truely fantastic!....I've bought a lot of addons in the past and this is without doubt the best airport scenery I have had the pleasure of buying, worth every penny! The framerates are good and everything runs nice and smooth....I think some addon designers could learn a thing or two with this about how to make complex airports but still have framerates that don't go into the tank....awesome stuff OSS! :-)Credit given where credit is due regardless who the developer is, is my motto...CheersDave
