In a deep southern drawl the captain of a 747 that had just taken off reported that he had shut one of his engines down due to a fire and requested return to Heathrow ASAP.

I listen to aircraft channels on my scanner. I am able to pick up the tower, approch, departure, and the individual aircraft.
