Yeah, Chevy's are better than Fords...or is it the other way around? Can't we get over this "mine is better than yours" stuff long enough to discuss solutions to FS problems? It depends on when you drive the stake and what your priorities are. nVidia is pushing 32-bits, ATI, rightly or wrongly, chose 24 bits. DX9 coding is not being used in FS9. Framerates in FS2002/4 are not primarily a function of the video card, they are still mainly a CPU function. Doom III speeds are irrelevant when viewing VFR scenery from a Piper Cub.nVidia is now screwing up drivers trying to look good in the current framerate war, and ATI is still screwing up drivers trying to stay ahead instead of working on glitches that don't matter in HalfLife2 but do matter in FS9. What is obvious is that FS9 is such a small part of the video card performance market that neither of them seem to care as much about display quality as about speed in kid's shooting games. I let my CPU determine my framerates, and choose my video card based on display quality, and even that is subjective.M Davis

That review by Tomshardware isn't even close. I have virtually no decrease in framerate when increasing resolutions with my 9700 Pro. Maybe 2 frames going from 1024x768 to 1600x1200. Tom's is showing a fifty percent loss. No way it's even close. Therefore, I doubt any of the rest of it. The higher end ATI cards shine at 1600x1200x32 res and that's where you'd want to run em'.

Shooting games aren't just for kids! There are plenty of us out here who are wise old folks who like them as well! :)Jim

>Here is the truth>>>http://www6.tomshardware.com/graphic/20030...on_9800-30.html^here are lies.Thomas Pabst is the worst kind of idiot: he's an Nvidiot. Tom's Hardware has got to be one of the most biased hardware sites on the web and I haven't seen anything worthwhile come out of there in years.-Max Cowgill

Hi Max,I couldn't agree more. Toms has a lot of wonderful reviewers on staff that provide some excellent information and reviews - as long as Tom personally isn't involved. When he is involved, take that information or review with a grain of salt. This isn't restricted to Nvidia vs ATI or any other topic, but just about anything he comments upon or is involved with. Its really just sad, because he's not a dim fellow... He's proven to be too full of himself and his ideas (repeatedly) to be trusted on anything of importance anymore. He gives the majority of his good staff a very bad name. Sad indeed.Take care,Elrond
