Any chance we´ll see the SFP package for the NGX?

Hi guys. I´m sorry to be yet another leecher probing to see what comes in the box regarding the NGX, but I´m really curious about this and wonder whether it´ll be made available to us. I ask because I typically fly out of SBRJ, where GOL airlines operates the Rio de Janeiro - São Paulo air bridge with 738s with the SFP regularly. It´s a pretty tight operation (and risky in many experts´ opinions), but a very fun one to fly online nonetheless. To quote from the 737 technical site:The Short Field Performance improvement package was developed in 2005/6 to allow GOL airlines to operate their 737-800s into the 1,465m (4,800ft) Santos Dumont airport. The modifications enable weight increases of approx 4,700kg (10,000lbs) for landing and 1,700kg (3,750lbs) for take-off from short runways. It includes the following changes: * Flight spoilers are capable of 60 degree deflection on touchdown by addition of increased stroke actuators. This compares to the current 33/38 degrees and reduces stopping distances by improving braking capability. * Slats are sealed for take-off to flap position 15 (compared to the current 10) to allow the wing to generate more lift at lower rotation angles. * Slats only travel to Full Ext when TE flaps are beyond 25 (compared to the current 5). Autoslat function available from flap 1 to 25. * Flap load relief function active from flap 10 or greater. * Two-position tailskid that extends an extra 127mm (5ins) for landing protection. This allows greater angles of attack to be safely flown thereby reducing Vref and hence landing distance. * Main gear camber (splay) reduced by 1 degree to increase uniformity of braking across all MLG tyres. * Reduction of engine idle-thrust delay time from 5s to 2s to shorten landing roll. * FMC & FCC software revisions.The SFP package has now become an option on all 737-800s (known as 737-800SFPs) and standard on the 737-900ER. Some of the features may also be fitted to the 600/700 series. The first SFP was delivered 31st June 2006. To date over 250 aircraft have been ordered with this package as either factory build or retrofit.A trailing edge flap modification from AeroTech has been available for the 737-2/3/4/500 series since 2004. The modification slightly extends and lowers the aft segments of the trailing edge flaps thereby increasing wing area, camber and importantly lift-to-drag ratio. The original modification had one fixed position for the aft flap segments. However it is now adjustable/tunable to fit a wide spectrum of flight operations. The cruise angle of attack is reduced by approximately 0.5 degree which reduces induced drag. There are no changes to operational procedures and every pilot that has flown this mod (FAA, test pilots, and line pilots) says that the aircraft handles better. Fuel savings vary with series and route structure but may average up to 4.3%.Any chance we´ll see this?Thanks in advance for the answers

just my guess work giuys for discussionI think it may be considered for a future update, but what you are asking, are very very specific things to get out of shortfield.i dont think it would justify a delay in release just for these changes..however you never know, it may be already implimented

This question was asked before, and Ryan answered it. I cannot remember the complete answer, but he said they are aware of the short field takeoff option. There was no concrete answer if I can remember correctly as to if it was implemented or not. I would lean toward saying it is probably not implemented. Cause that was the same discussion where people were asking about the up-rated engines (from this package) if they would be in the model and the engine thrust ratings are available in their customizations menu.

After taking some time to reread the changes made to the airplane to implement the sfp package I regreted my question. I thought "no matter how good these guys are, there's no way PMDG is going through all this trouble to simulate something that will be appreciated by such precious few costumers".I simply cannot believe that you guys are modeling these changes. You are too good to be true, and I'm never going to stop marveling at your ingenuity.I'm starting to think that PMDG's NGX should be mandatory ground school material for all airlines and flight academies in the workd that deal with the 737NG family.Onde again thank you so much Robert, Ryan and everyone else. BTW Robbert, I'd definetely vote for you if I lived in your state :(

I think London City operators could benefit from SFP package too, but I don´t remember anyone using 737 over there. Maybe BBJ.

The largest aircraft into LCY at the moment are the two BA A318s.

Well it's not JUST for you guys in Brazil - any new 900 off the line has it by default now too.
Well I knew that already but I'd rather feel like I'm special hehe. Now jokes apart I think we can assume then that what this means is that the SFP will be an option when we go flying the 800 series correct? Great stuff! Once again thank you

This is a little off topic, but I think the GOL 738 that had the middair with the Legacy was a SFP, if not the 1st, correct? If so, I went inside that airplane after it was done doing sloped runway auto land tests in KBIL. We had to fuel and service it! It was impressive, but a little eery to know what happened to it :S

Problem in LCY is not only the only 1200 meter long runway but also the steep approach (5.5 degrees) so i dont think we will ever see a 737 in LCY. Also the 2 BA A318 are severely payload restricted - and 32 seat business class only. Rene

GOL 738 is a serial number? Because the flight that collided is GOL 1907.

I´m pretty sure he meant 738 as in B737-800. Not sure if it was fitted with SFP though. As far as I know, only the 738s serving Rio´s local aerodrome (SBRJ) were fitted with it. Obviously I could be wrong. Really must get an eerie thought thinking you stepped into that plane, considering it´s history. That was one freak accident that definetely left a scar on Brazil´s general population.
