Any chance we´ll see the SFP package for the NGX?

I´m pretty sure he meant 738 as in B737-800. Not sure if it was fitted with SFP though. As far as I know, only the 738s serving Rio´s local aerodrome (SBRJ) were fitted with it. Obviously I could be wrong. Really must get an eerie thought thinking you stepped into that plane, considering it´s history. That was one freak accident that definetely left a scar on Brazil´s general population.
Yeah, you're right...I did mean 738 as in 737-800. When I walked into the cockpit before refueling, the pilots told me it was a "enhanced performance airplane" going to Brazil. Furthermore, if you check on airliners.net, and see all the pics of the one that had the midair, there are a few of it in metal test skin...that was the one I was on.And yes, it is very eerie, that's for sure. May all of the people in the crash RIP.

Victor-Funny you should ask this question at the time you did.We just implemented the short field package for the build we completed on Tuesday. It was not a significant amount of work, but it adds some "flavor" for users who like to try things that are a bit different.Boeing provided us with the entire SFP breakdown, along with diagrams, photos, cost analysis about 18 months ago. I held on to that document because I thought at the time: "This would be a cool little option detail..."Another cool little option detail: You'll be able to choose carbon or steel brakes on the airplanes for which they are offered as an option- and they will have an operational impact. We are also setting up airframe tracking for Virtual Airlines, so that they can set the options their airline "has purchased" and even have a mix of options by separating them by tail number...So if Virtual XYZ airlines decided, they could have all their 700s operating with steel brakes, and the 800s operating with the SFP and the carbon brakes- thus requiring virtual crews to be certain they are aware of what they are flying- and what impact it could have in terms of limitations and operating procedures. But more information on that later. :(

This is getting ridiculous Robert :( I mean, is there anything you haven´t left out? I´m sure your next announcement is that the boxed version will come with a motorized chair that hooks up to FSX for motion simulation. And this will be the first ever FSX product to be level-D rated haha

Cheers,

and yes, Robert any special pricing for commercial use ?? cause I'm pretty sure once you hit the mart, they're gonna come running after you requesting volume licensing :) Cool!!! I fly SFPs in real, 27K punch on a B738 frame included...Bhaskar Krishna

Will there be presets for real life airlines? Like, will I be able to pick and have my plane configured for Delta Airlines, and then pick for American Airlines?

Considering the stuff they´ve announced so far I think this has been factored in from the beginning. Take into account what Robert said about the VAs and you´ll see what I mean.

I think the question is will PMDG be privy to that information, or have the time/desire to go and compile a database for us, or rather just give us the ability to make them up ourselves and save them, like the way the Leo Maddog does. For the record, I am all for PMDG doing all the work. I guess the next question is: firestones or goodyears? Every tidbit we get thrown at us is amazing. Keep up the good work guys!Buddy Morgan
