November 14, 201015 yr Commercial Member Guys, maybe we'll start first PMDG Virtual Airline with route from Minas Morgul to Midas Tirith? Scenery addon anyone? Vin Scimone Precision Manuals Development Group www.precisionmanuals.com
November 14, 201015 yr Hey watch it, Gavin. Some of my best friends were BORN in Mordor, and they don't take kindly to hearing their glorious homeland characterized as a " dark waste-land" by the non-Mordorish.TonyThat may well be. I've never actually been there and have only seen it on films. Can't say I find it that attractive but probably, like most cases, it's very nice when you get there and the people are friendly. Sort of like Katowice :( Gavin Barbara Over 10 years here and AVSIM is still my favourite FS site :-)
November 14, 201015 yr Compared to Katowice, Mordor looks like Garden of Eden... Regarding A320: I like the idea that PMDG is focused on Boeing and FSLabs is focused on Airbus, this way we'll get more high quality products. Of course it would be cool to see PMDG Airbus, but I really think it's good the way it is now.
November 14, 201015 yr Commercial Member Well, I'm not an insider, but I think that certain parts of the development team with the Airbus expertise / interest left the team to form another company. This company has released a supersonic transporter and is now in the process of building a high fidelity Airbus for FSX.Wim-This is not factual information. The expertise if FBW and complex dyanmic systems at PMDG is our one and only Dr. Vaos... and he's still here. The fellow we let go did not carry any expertise that wasn't easily replaced. Robert S. Randazzo PLEASE NOTE THAT PMDG HAS DEPARTED AVSIM You can find us at: http://forum.pmdg.com
November 14, 201015 yr Compared to Katowice, Mordor looks like Garden of Eden... +1 Paul Kawalec Chicago O'Hare Int. Airport . Last flight: 6-11-11 - B737-700 - Southwest Airlines #2139 - KMDW -> KTPA
November 14, 201015 yr When I tried that feeble joke earlier, I assumed Mordor was a fictitious location from a movie or book, but now that the joke has backfired, I'm not so sure, and I almost expect someone to confirm that the only flights to Katowice or Mordor will be aboard A320 Airbuses piloted by renegade Airsimmer staffers.Returning to the here and now, it is somewhat reassuring to deduce from Capt.Randazzo's above post that PMDG could embark on a simulated FBW-based aircraft, such as the A320, should they choose to do so, given the wealth of expertise at their disposal.Tony Selario Best regards from Tony, at the helm of the flying desk.
November 14, 201015 yr All this talk of LOTR's lore is setting a dangerous precedent. It is a potential dangerous concoction of obsession and nerdyness that may tip the balance of this forum. If I were you guys I would leave these two worlds separate they have no business being together! Some of us may explode if we bring these two obsessions together. :( Keep it separate, keep it safe! Mike Keigley
November 14, 201015 yr don't get me wrong. I love boeings and all PMDG aircraft. It too bad they didn't plan the airbus before the 777. It would be nice to mix it up a little! Flying just boeings gets boring. Pete Richards I've owned every version of flight simulator since Flight Simulator 3.0 in 1988. November 15, 201015 yr Commercial Member Gents-Ryan pointed out to me that the original poster in this thread invited me to answer "honestly."Is there some supposition out there that would cause anyone to believe I would have some reason to answer dishonestly? This type of post is something that I've taken to calling a "pay attention to me, I'm self important." Such posts traditionally get ignored because the user is generally pushing some half whit agenda point that really needn't be addressed because the truth is self evident to anyone who has spent more than an hour in this forum. I recognize that there are a few self important or self righteous folks who might be offended by this- but the reality is that we make decisions based on a very clear agenda- and that agenda is part of PMDG's business model- and unless you join the team- you really shouldn't expect to have input. :( I've seen some truly idiotic comments in this forum about how we might be "afraid" or some other general claptrap... There is no airplane, no system and no simulation that this team couldn't accomplish if we decide to... If anyone tells you otherwise- I would suspect their motives.Now- I've been decidedly grumpy answering a few of these "pay attention to me" type posts- so let me end with something a bit more positive:1) Give at least ten seconds of thought to the fact that we have a strategic partner in Boeing... That might help you make some guesses about our development agenda.2) We have a number of things underway at PMDG that we do not discuss publicly. When something comes over the horizon for you- we'll fill you in...Now I'm off to finish trouble-shooting the high stage bleed failure logic on the NGX... :( Robert S. November 15, 201015 yr Gents-The ignore policy was sound, why break it here? I think you guys are big enough for a PR person by now, is Ryan it? A PR person can soothe the masses. Perhaps a lady even, the rabble might be inclined towards a civil attitude towards her. Not a pushover, mind you, just firm and feminine - sorta like the ######in' betty concept. Jeff Bea I am an avid globetrotter with my trusty Lufthansa B777F, Polar Air Cargo B744F, and Atlas Air B748F.
November 15, 201015 yr Mr Randazzo, please stop mucking about with that damn NGX and get the damn Woodpigeon out the door. :( Cheers, Chris D I do not have a signature. Why are you reading this?
