What means "MIN PROFILE" as part of STAR?

Featured Replies

I was going to fly the MD-11F on an RNAV approach into Tegucigalpa-Toncontin (OK, this is crazy, but that is another story). The MCDU did indeed have the RNAV approach to Rwy02 so I selected it. There was one field which requested an input of a MIN PROFILE. What does that mean? Does it mean that the vertical profile will only be respected/flown down to that altitude, and that below that altitude I have to control vertical navigation either by using V/S, open descent or hand-fly the plane? Thanks for any infos.

It's the minimum altitude you can descend to with profile according to your charts for the field. At that point you handly the rest.Regards
