Your favorite short/med/long haul flight? (scenery-wise)

Featured Replies

Hi,Well.. I've gotten back into FSX now that I got a controller. I've got enough payware addons but I've found myself getting bored flying the same old flight every time.I don't enjoy flying from/to places without addons because it just so boring. I find myself only flying in madeira (aerosoft), caribean (flytampa) and some big airports in europe (aerosoft mega airport). :( So I wonder.. What are your top 3 short, med and longhaul flights based on scenery?Mine:Short- LMPA - LPPS (Aerosoft Madeira X)Medium- EGLL - EHAM (Aerosoft EGLL, EHAM)- EHAM - Long haul- TNCC - TNCM (Flytampa/tropical sim antilles) - EHAM - LEMD (Aerosoft EHAM, LEMD)Thanks

Jets:Short- San Diego-Las VegasMedium- San Francisco-Los AngelesMedium- Salt Lake City-Portland OrgeonLong- I dont do anything over 1 1/2 hours so I guess medium covers it, but anywhere in the US from the Rockies west is beautifull, especially if Blue Sky scenery covers it.

EGCC to LEAM (Manchester to Almeria) - good trip length for a 737, DC-9 or 757. Sadly there is no really decent FSX scenery for LEAM, but it's a fairly austere airport in real life, so that bit doesn't matter too much.Setting off from UK2000's Manchester Extreme, the climb out is made more interesting with VFR photographic scenery for the UK, coupled with Earth Simulation's Treescapes, which place the autogen trees accurately and get rid of those stupid 250 foot tall default FSX pine trees. Up over the southern UK, Channel Islands and France at cruise, Ultimate Terrain Europe does a decent job of things and I tend to route over the Bay of Biscay and Bilbao so that the Pyrenees is in view on the left with the Bay of Biscay, and the Atlantic beyond, off to the right. With the Bay's notoriously bad weather, there's often some interesting storm activity below, which ASE and REX make very convincing work of.On the descent over Spain, it can get cloudy before the coastal plain, which makes for some picturesque views tracking through the peaks of the Sierra Nevada mountains above where the coastal plain of Andalucia comes into view. Radar Contact is fairly necessary with that part of the flight because otherwise, vectors from the default FS ATC will put you into a mountain LOL. Off to the left on the ILS approach into LEAM, the Mediterranean looks pretty thanks to REX and the notorious 'desert look' of FSX actually works pretty well for the Spanish countryside even when Ultimate Terrain Europe isn't used. LEAM's runway is not a very long one, but it's more than enough to get a 757 onto even with a fairly late manual approach into it, so it can be hand flown if ILS isn't your thing. Being such a small airport, it's a nice short taxi to the terminal too.Anyway, that's my favourite flight with an airliner.Al

Check out my youtube flight sim videos: Here

Europe is so nice for this mainly because of all the scenery available for fsx. All the German airports, Luxembourg, Amsterdam, Vienna, Innsbruck, Stockholm, I could go on. Aerosoft and fsdreamteam are making me go broke lol
