Hopefulle the landing lights will be as good as some other developers have managed to make them. For example like the landing lights of the L-39, those are quite nice Drooling.gifBut man this VC looks so amazing!!! Can't wait, but I Will wait Big%20Grin.gif

Wow, that looks quite nice. Any chance we can get a video of a landing with it?

Watched it several times and could not spot any 'pluses'. This was purely manual landing and I was actually amazed how late they flare. They did not do anything until RA=30 at which point they smoothly increase pitch from about 2 deg to about 4. Very often on these forums you hear people taking about proper landing techniques and how you should initiate flare at around 50 ft - well this video is a good eye opener. Kudos to whoever gave us the link.EDIT: Yes, I now see the pluses! They seem to appear a bit sooner than they actually do flare.

PMDG, once again you have outdone yourself. This is without a doubt the single greatest aircraft ever planned for release in FSX. I can't wait to get my hands on this baby, but I'm willing to wait as I see the details and quality of this aircraft. P.S. I'm going to be buying a new TrackIR as well.

Quick question, I noticed the glaresheild is now black instead of silver in the last set of images. Looks ALOT better now in black in my opinion. Has this been changed, or can we choose? I must say the newer black, less silver images I'm a liking!! I must admit I was a little unsure at first of the look at first, but things are looking good now with the darker set, is that staying in release version?Cheers guys.
Further color matching was done based on photos one of our tech team advisor pilots took - he said they represented well what he sees with his eyes, so we're going with that. The first shots we showed were probably a bit too washed out - was a result of the lighting and white balance settings when we did the photo survey combined with the fact that FSX tends to display colors lighter than they actually are on the texture in a lot of situations. What you're seeing in these shots here is probably what we'll release with - might be some further minor adjustments even.
I was wondering if one of you would be able to give me some idea of the framerates you are seeing at this stage of development on your systems? I know it may not have much relation to the framerates on the finished product, but if you could give us a rough figure at the current moment in time that would be great.
We're not guaranteeing anything obviously, but Vin and I have both seen approx 20+FPS more than 400X in many situations with the current alpha. The aircraft itself is way less framerate heavy than any of our previous products. This is the result of some very advanced optimizing we've done on the code end - the systems no longer slow FS down as much as they have in the past. It's all new and from scratch.
Wow! I love it!Are some of these features just for ILS runways? What I mean is if you are flying a VORD app or RNAV, will the HUGS be able to show you when to leave the MSA and the MDA if all set up properly? Also the required glide path descent? Looking forward to this gem! Any news on the other projects also? I thought another team was doing some work on the dash8?
The HGS has 4 top-level modes:PRI - the primary general purpose mode you see in our collimation video and in that youtube video that was linked on page 2.IMC - this is a mode that's designed for use with AP coupled approaches, it shows the glidepath angle, flight director cue circle and some other things that aren't on the primary mode. Hides a lot of the PRI stuff that would clutter up the view during an approach.VMC - this is the visual approach mode - similar to IMC but doesn't have any FD or raw data navaid cues.AIII - the mode that's in the screenshots, designed for handflown CAT II or CAT IIIa approaches. This is the only mode that shows you the runway outline and the flare cues etc.The PRI mode has a few submodes that are for ground operations (takeoff roll and landing rollout) - we're getting those operational now. (astute observers might have noticed that the mode in the video is actually the flight mode, not the ground one)

How about this one: Q - the bandwidth of a frequency in a parametric EQ in audio processing. tongue.gif

I remember you guys were planning on releasing a much more powerful SDK for the NGX so those of us wanting to tie in varied hardware will more easily be able to do it. I was talking to Pete Cos on the FDS forums to see if it was possible to use their hyper realistic FMC and CDU with the NGX without having to buy Sim-A as well. He said no details about the NGX SDK were known yet so he didn't have an answer, but he would be open to the idea. Any chance you guys can touch base when the SDK is ready to see if it might be possible?

Tony

Hi Ryan,Thanks for the clarification re: vc color changes with the newer images. I think the revised colors in these images are pretty spot-on, and looks very good. :( The black glaresheild and the darker grey main panel fits the look of the NGX's well and cleans up the cockpit nicely from the more silver look and bright silver glaresheild before. The VC colors in the video look even better! Really good balance now. Window stickers are awesome too!You can count me as a customer! Keep up the good work.
Simon

It looks amazing!!In the video it looks like the framerate is a bit low - should we worry about it? Or is it just because of the recording?
