A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

That looks amazing. It is a very useful feature on low-visibility approaches. Thank you for sharing!

It looks amazing!!In the video it looks like the framerate is a bit low - should we worry about it? Or is it just because of the recording?
+1 Would be interesting to find this out. Also to mention that the cockpit looks too much like the default ! Obviously alot more clickable buttons and systems. The Aerosoft Airbus X will be hard to beat in Cockpit detail and Sharpness, so will be interesting to see what this brings. Only my opinion.JAMMUR

No, you should not worry about it because:
The NGX is easily the best performing FSX product we've made. I get better FPS in it than I do on the 747 or MD-11. That enough of an answer? tongue.gif
We're not guaranteeing anything obviously, but Vin and I have both seen approx 20+FPS more than 400X in many situations with the current alpha. The aircraft itself is way less framerate heavy than any of our previous products. This is the result of some very advanced optimizing we've done on the code end - the systems no longer slow FS down as much as they have in the past. It's all new and from scratch.
But PMDG does not quaranteeing anything about having good FPS obviously but you can assume that you get better FPS with the 737NGX than with the 747X or MD-11.

+10000 for the color change. I painted some aircrafts before and Im glad you noticed it was too light. It is hard to match a color when you get the real deal samples and have to change it because FSX lighten the colors! I would put it even a bit darker but that's my opinion. Still, amazing works guys Im glad ill be able to handle this thing just like I do with my Superhornet ;)

Does anyone have any idea what 737 all of these shots were taken in? i.e. 737 -700, -800, -900
This latest one was taken from a -800. Look at the reg sticker in the VC, it reads N738PM

Yup, you're right Guy014. Take a look at the picture here below, DVA7475. 50106065.jpg B737 can be one of the "737 series" but it can be also a "737 700." In this case you read 738 and that means "737 800." :(

Hi Ryan,Last question, noticed the vc in the video had a different autopilot system\buttons than the screenshots vc one. Will this be an option to choose upon in the release aircraft (s)? Realize you guys are still in development stages, and are most likely using all sorts of variables to test, but I think the video one looks pretty darn good!! Colors and the autopilot especially look great! That one has my vote. Both would be good. Really impressed with the video's color realism however:)

Hi Simon,There are two different Mode Control Panels available, one made by Honeywell (smaller rectangular buttons) and one made by Collins (bigger square buttons). The team has mentioned that both will be simulated and options.----Cam Jones

Tony-One of our goals is to give hardware developers an SDK that allows them to pretty much do anything they want from a hardware control standpoint. The SDK will be a living/breathing kind of development exercise- because I am certain that with the dozens and dozens of hardware manufacturers out there, there will be a constant need for evolution in order to help our mutual customers get where they want to be in terms of hardware and software working together. The onus will be on hardware developers to work with the SDK, and to communicate effectively with the development team through specific channels that will be established specifically to support them in private. We will obviously want their feedback and communication so that we can learn and adapt the SDK to maximize its usefulness. Two important points are important here:1) 100% compatibility with every piece of hardware in the world won't happen overnight. It will take time for hardware developers to develop any interfaces or hardware driven actions that might be necessary to work with the NGX... (but the good news is that they will be able to- unlike with our legacy products!)2) Hardware is not our business... While we have been laying out the new product lines with hardware developers in mind- they will not be our primary development impetus... So the process will move forward but it may not meet the speed expectations of customers who have hardware that doesn't interface with the NGX on day one. 99.999% of our customers are not major hardware consumers- so we need to keep life in perspective. NOTE TO HARDWARE VENDORS/DEVELOPERS: We will not have a sample of the SDK for you to work with until the product releases. At release time we will publish in this forum a method for you to reach out to us so that we can cooperate with you to get your hardware plugged in! (We'd love to work with you sooner- but at stage of development we are already task saturated, sorry!)

Simon-We have a very healthy options list inside the airplane that will allow you to pick/choose your cockpit equipment to suit your tastes. For example, if you wanted to Honeywell MCP and the analogue standby gauges and no HUD... You can chose those options...If you suddenly change your mind mid flight and decide that it would be nice to have a HUD... presto-clicko-change-o... The HUD is available for you. We've had some requests to set up airline specific configurations that we intend to follow through with- but it hasn't been implemented yet. One other area we are working on is hull-specific configurations: This will allow VA's to decide how they want specific hull numbers outfitted, and they can give these setups to their pilots... When flying a specific hull number, the pilot will have access to the equipment the VA chose...Again- not sure if that will make release 1.0- but long term it is something we intend to have in place for the NG series, the 777 and the [censored] that will follow it.

That was Aerosoft Heathrow X + overcast REX2 weather + 100% AI traffic + FRAPS recording in real time. The NGX doesn't magically make a situation that's got a low framerate with *any* aircraft suddenly a high framerate situation. It can't make up for FPS hits that are being caused by scenery, AI etc. I really want to make that point clear - it's FPS hits that are directly caused by the aircraft and its systems that we've mitigated in this product. You aren't going to see 60FPS over FTX PNW Seattle with maxed autogen and 100% AI because the FPS hit there isn't even coming from the aircraft in the first place, it's the massive amount of stuff being drawn/calculated in the environment.

This looks great, and I'll probably buy TrackIr just for this, but how will the HUGS look in the 2D cockpit? Some pictures would be great.

I do not think there is going to be a 2D cockpit.. the J-41 did not have one, and I think the NGX will follow suit. I could be wrong though as I do remember there being talk about 2D panels in the past. I have tried flying the MD-11X from the 2D pit and did not like it. On FS2004 and prior games I was hooked solid on the 2D, but now with the way current VC's are I see no reason to go back. Although having the 2D pop up panels is very nice for stuff that is at the very top of the overhead, and other obscure panels that aren't easily seen from the left seat.

The NGX will have one but it's almost certainly our last product that will. I think it's entirely unnecessary outside of some popups for people with multimonitor or home cockpit stuff. Especially with something like EZ Dok or Track IR now.
