A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

Yes, considering the huge amount of data, maybe they photographed in RAW mode and later converted to TIFF.
I shot in RAW+JPEG actually.
Whoa, hasn't it been said they've been taken with a 50D or sumthin? Sorry, couldn't resist, but taking an educated guess here: Assuming CR2 and about 20 megs per image, we are talking about almost 2K images... Say you eventually used hi res JPEGs though, averaging at 5 megs, we have some whoppin 7K pics... Either way, seems like quite an impressive number as far as reference imagery goes! Big%20Grin.gif I suppose that includes the outside model, not just the panels, or do you have another HD full of external shots? :(sig.gif
Was around 1600 images, but there were two copies of each image. (RAW+JPEG as noted above) The RAWs are much larger than the JPEGs. Cockpit and exterior, yes. We filled a 32GB CF card and then got partway into an 8GB one. Transfered them onto my Macbook while RSR, Paul, Vin and myself ate at a sandwich shop near KMSP after we were done haha.

What did you shoot with? Canon 1D? My Canon 7D at 18MP in RAW is around 35MB/image. Fills up a CF card fast! But those images are sweet!

What is a polling interval that an ex PMDG employee talks about, as far as my cpflight mcp having pauses when trying to use it on the 747-400? He said the ball was in PMDG's court.
Jim-I suppose the fellow you mention above didn't realize you've known me for...what is it now... 26 years(?! Crap- we are getting old)... when he decided to toss that ball in our court? We'd love to help you- but those interfaces were written that individual prior to his being separated from PMDG- and nobody here knows a thing about them. He has owned and continues to own them... We took them off the market because if inadequate support by him to us and end our customers. How's life up in the miserable NE? You still in HYA? If yes- we're going out for steak and lobster this summer...

after watching this short video clip:

Will there be a request/ATIS option in the FMC? I know FSX doesn't show very good weather, but there are other good weather addons out there like Active sky Evolution for example. will we be able to put that into FMC, or is that something too complicated for FSX.ryan d.
Hahaha you have me beat by two years. My plane is a 1967 k model.

No doubt. I'll bet it was interesting watching Ryan contort into all sorts of awkward positions trying to get every little switch and button in great detail and on such a tight flight deck. We're certainly in for a treat!

Yeah, I'm sort of in a shock that he passed away since I've somehow come to expect that he would be around for another 50 years making us laugh til we cry! RIP Leslie!

Ricko-Without getting into specifics: Significantly better. We clean-sheeted this development in order to eliminate some grossly inefficient processes that were holding back performance. We aren't publishing specific numbers yet- as we are still wrapping up the internal testing and we haven't yet optimized the airplane for prime-time testing... (Hint: We are seeing better than expected performance right now- and we anticipate this improving somewhat once we complete optimization.)
