A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

Look guys, I understand this is taking longer than we'd all like - I'm the one that has to come into the forum every morning and see the attacks, delete the stupid threads that people have posted against the rules overnight etc. You never even see half the stuff that actually gets posted here - I was quite upset by a couple of different things earlier this morning and if you were upset by what I posted, I'm sorry.I do think people are not even reading what we've already said before they start up with the posts asking for updates and so on. Someone just two posts above me asked if we could say "The 737NGX is taking more time than we thought. The project is moving forward as fast as we can, we are all pushing for the beta version." We've said essentially exactly that numerous times. The number of updates we do does not affect when you get the airplane and I'm just not sure what this is doing for people to demand constant updates from us. The external model is not ready to show. Neither are the other things that people have asked about. When they are ready, we will show them. I'm constantly amazed that people think we have some ulterior motive here, that we're actually done with the plane but just sitting on it and not releasing or showing screenshots as part of some plot to ###### everyone off. We're not.

I took that post as commenting about what they would model on the BBJ, not whether they'll be releasing it or not. Guess it just depends on how you read his posts.
Ryan did respond to a question about the BBJ development a while back. Here's what he said: "We're planning on doing the BBJs."So that's good news but I guess not clear whether the BBJs will be part of the first release or come later as an add-on.Bruce Campion-Smith

Thanks for the reply, Ryan.I'd like to reply directly to that comment. Personally, I have not read very much of this thread. I normally go straight to the PMDG members profile page, and check the latest posts they have made. I want to read what PMDG people have actually said rather than wade through page after page of nonsense. However, not everyone will do that and not everyone will catch that one post from PMDG within 15 posts of nonsense. So really, if you want to get that one message through to more people you will need to have a new thread perhaps once or twice a month with just that little message. Perhaps include in that thread the answers to the common questions.I'd just like to add; I'm not trying to "troll" or stir up things. :)Just an idea.Kind Regards,M Murray

Just to add to that suggestion: Maybe a locked thread would be ideal. i.e. the release date thread. This way that official status message won't get lost in the clutter.PS: A question to the older members here:Since this is the first PMDG product I'm going to buy it's also the first development process I've been monitoring. Based on past experience (the MD-11, 747, J41) what is it that PMDG usually likes to do at this stage? Meaning are we going to have a "quiet" beta period followed by a period when beta testers are allowed to comment freely or something similar?

Having been through every release PMDG has ever done for FS, I can say with certainty that it plays out exactly this way every single time. That's not to say they are "doing it wrong", it's just to say that development takes a long time, people get restless, etc.Beta has been typically longer than what I believe is expected for this project (based on previous comment), and usually the beta cycles are more exciting because testers are free to post screenshots and discuss the project. That said, you will then start to hear "it looks done, just release it already"!No matter how you slice it, it's always worth the wait....PMDG always delivers.

What about creating a single locked thread with all the screenshots and information that robert/vin/ryan has given us. Not new information, but just what's already been said. Whenever there IS something to post it's posted there.I think a lot of these posts asking for updates are from people who rarely come to the forum and have no idea that there are all kinds of great tidbits scattered throughout all these preview posts. Yes it would take some time to compile all of that information into a post, but it may help both sides of the frustration.

+1Most people who complain don't come here every day and might not know what info is already available.
This forum must be full of little children who don't know how to wait! Stop hounding PMDG! It's ready when it's ready! Sometime I think PMDG should take the Level-d approch! Dont share any information until the aircraft is released!
Actually the forum is full of fans of PMDG. Everyone knows it'l be done when it's done: it'll get here when it gets here.We should be patient with each other. Let's not behave like some American politicians, lets agree to at least tolerate each other.I know a lot of people have pointed out the fact that PMDG would like to start making money on their product as soon as possible,As for updates, well,i can wait. These guys have a full plate, The dash-8, T7, etc, etc, etc. are supposedly being worked on concurrentlyso, lets be a little more patient.

Reply: Well if people would read ALL the previos post then maybe they would see what Ryan has quoted here. I've been following this forum for a while, and I saw him and other PMDG staff saying the exact same thing as he's just quoted. People only see what they want to see. I think we all just need to relax and wait for the product. Like I saw someone say earlier. . . "they have lives too." Just think, how would you all feel if that was you, coming onto a forum EVERYDAY and seeing the same old crap- -- it's annoying! I'll admit I'm a hardcore simmer and do get tired of seeing good looking sim add-on's and then once you've purchased the item then we're ######. Because the developers didn't put time into their product. [Which I've never had a problem with any of PMDG products. . because they put the time and effort into everything they develop.] Keep up the good work PMDG. :)

I disagree This would be overkill for those of us, who i presume are in the majority, who have caused no stress toPMDG or Avsim or anyone else to be in an info black out, due to the noise of a few.We seen this method used in real life before and it's disturbing. My opinion.

I agree, the good and
"patient" followers shouldn't have to suffer for those inpatient persons. But as I mentioned in the above reply, it gets annoying when you come on this forum and see the same question being asked a million times.Just saying

Agreed, 65 pages is enough.
