A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

There is a thing that is simmilar to the steering wheel you have in your car, but it is not totally round. There is one beside each pilot. I don't know if the small planes have this, but all the big jets have. It would help if someone could post a picture of it here.
Quote""Tiller is something like any steering wheel (or steering thingy) that just tilts/swings right and left to rotate the nose-wheel of the plane right and left. Simply for big airplanes they seperated the nose-wheel control from the rudder pedals and added this extra control for the purpose of ground steering.Maybe it makes sense…but it still needs practise to control planes on the ground…when to control thrust and tiller/rudder inputs. One quote I recall: “Steering big jets is weird…when you want to turn on first avenue you initiate the turn when you pass the fifth avenue”….meaning for big planes you have to go past the point of turning a little bit with the aircraft nose then initiate the turn, in order to end up with the whole aircraft centered on the center-line later on." That's true. I have FSLabs Concorde and in this plane the nose wheel is almost in the middle of the plane.concorde_mikevallentin.jpgWhen you want to turn, the cockpit almost leaves the taxiway when the nose wheel hits the centerline.

I have to say I bought this plane a few months ago and nearly gave up on it because it has a steep learning curve but with the NGX not being released yet I have returned to this bird and love it. Learning the INS has been really rewarding and yes the plane does have its quirks but if anyone has some extra cash for another plane to go along with the ngx then splash out on this. It has really made waiting for the ngx easier. Anyone got any advice on manual landing in the Concorde as it is very challenging because of the nose angle and always the fear of stalling her on approach.Sean Moore CYYZ(Original airport EIDW)
I just saw that Air Jamica has a brand new 737 and new paint scheme, when did they go with Boeing, and will that be included in the liveries?Mike Davey 777

Look guys, I understand this is taking longer than we'd all like - I'm the one that has to come into the forum every morning and see the attacks, delete the stupid threads that people have posted against the rules overnight etc. You never even see half the stuff that actually gets posted here - I was quite upset by a couple of different things earlier this morning and if you were upset by what I posted, I'm sorry.I do think people are not even reading what we've already said before they start up with the posts asking for updates and so on. Someone just two posts above me asked if we could say "The 737NGX is taking more time than we thought. The project is moving forward as fast as we can, we are all pushing for the beta version." We've said essentially exactly that numerous times. The number of updates we do does not affect when you get the airplane and I'm just not sure what this is doing for people to demand constant updates from us. The external model is not ready to show. Neither are the other things that people have asked about. When they are ready, we will show them. I'm constantly amazed that people think we have some ulterior motive here, that we're actually done with the plane but just sitting on it and not releasing or showing screenshots as part of some plot to ###### everyone off. We're not.
+1I'm amazed at the whinning and crying that goes on daily here. There is not enough popcorn in the world to get me through this drama. I guess we're seeing the attitudes of an entitled culture that demands instant gratification and has developed no patience. Go out and work on your knowledge of charts and terminal procedures. Get your Vatsim ratings, prepare yourselves for the NGX instead of crying in your cereal every morning.

I bought this Concorde on Dec 24th, it was a Xmas gift I gave to myself. After a couple flights using the tutorial, I could fly it on my own using only the checklist (that is very extensive), because without it, you always forget something. So far, I couldn't master how to manage the fuel and pressurization. I use the VFE for this and for engine management. Manual landing is really chalenging. Sometimes, to maintain a glide slope of 3º, descendind at 700 ft/m, you have to keep the plane at 10 degrees nose up, and you really get the impression it will stall. The controlls are also very sensible. The smallest touch on the flight controlls has a dramatical effect in pitch. I've made a stall test with the Concorde and if it stalls, you have almost no chance to recover. The plane starts spinning. Take-offs are dramatic too. To achieve a Vr of 180 knots, you use something around 3000 meters of runway.

Yes lol I have to give myself any of my flightsim gifts as the wife just gives me a very puzzled look when i request such items as gifts. You really do eat up the runway with the Concorde X but I have to say it is a great aircraft and one you keep finding new stuff in. I think I will be using the VFE for a while until I master other things. It is a plane that you cannot let it get ahead of you or else, you always have to be a few steps ahead. It was also a strange transition with no handy fmc but the INS is a good little system.Sean Moore CYYZ(orginial EIDW)

Keep the speed up! She needs an incredible amount of speed on approach because of the delta configuration wing. It does feel kinda strange to land at 160kts++ tho

Oke PMDG, Februar 18th it's my birthday so I really hope it will be released before or at the 18th! Beside that, The week next to Februar 18th I've one week free so enough time to learn to fly my baby. ;) Big disappointment if it will be released after the week when I'm free... :S

RyanThrowing toys out of pram comes to mind!I can understand you being PMDG being fustrated but also the many customers out there waiting to purchase this fantastic product the frustration of the lack of information, even Robert said back many months ago that there would be regular updates.I personally can't understand why PMDG at this stage can't show some general shots of the exterior, I for one have seen enough of the interior which I'm extremely satisfied that it is the best and most complex cockpit ever :( If the NGX is months away that's fine but communication with your customers is vital.kind regardsJoe Park
