A little Heads-Up on the NGX...

Well, perhaps this will make you all stomp louder! :( The PMDG Boeing 737-800NG at YBBN, Brisbane, Australia by Orbx. I've been doing this a long time, and very little phases me. However this combination just got me really excited about this NGX we are soon going to bring to you. You can check out an additional screenshot (taken a tad later) on our Facebook Page.Enjoy! And Happy New Year! (almost)
Thanks Vin, every scrap you guys throw out we will gladly consume. :(

In this image you can still see the 3 degree glide path marker shows that I am high on the approach, because it should be laid directly over top of the PAPI.
A quote from the very first post by Rob. If the 3 degree marker is too high how will you be able to correct it and bring it down. i.e what must the pilot do to correct it.Thankshappy new year

Sorry I haven't quite read the past couple pages since I'm on vacation here and a little limited in internet usage, but in case nobody noticed, in the most recent FB shot the ACARS LSK is greyed out. Just saying this since it's been asked numerous times in the past. I don't want to claim it won't be functional, I would just like to share my observation based on the posted shot, well, since it's been discussed as I just said. Big%20Grin.gifI hope I am not mistaken that the devs said the panel illumination color will be adjustable. Albeit it looks insanely good right now I'd rather have it a whole lot more reddish, since this is how I remember the NG flight deck and all my (raw) night pictures look quite reddish, plus I like the warmth a lot more than the cool white!:( Might be just me though.Great shot, and although I enjoy every new shot I can't find many new hints in this one, so I will gladly wait for the next update. Maybe it's gonna be the long awaited outside shot or the HUGS video? Keep up the good work and keep us updated haha. Oh and the scenery fits the quality of the plane pretty well as I have to say. :(sig.gif

The airplane comes with a panel.ini file in which you can manually adjust all the lighting colors to your heart's content using RGB values.Outside visuals will be coming shortly after the new year, and it will not disappoint! HUGS in action video coming as well.. if there is time before release!

i too hope acars is functional
I'm not sure if it will be or not but well is it that important ? I mean as far as I know ACARS are for sending monitoring information about the aircraft systems via sattelite or ground stations to the company maintenance as well as to the constructor (maybe ?). So well Except having the ACARS screen I don't think it has any kind of impact on the airplane systems in return and if that is the case it might be optional the 747 only have Flight Number and departure/arrival airport. But I might be wrong.

It would be cool if there was some way to write a acars plug in for different acars systems. I know some Virtual Airlines use FSFlightkeeper, FSAcars, Xacars and Kcars to report live flights.Chuck DCYXU

I noticed a small detail in the new screenshot that if implemented would add even more to the realism factor.......I see a chime toggle switch next to the seatbelts switch. Is that functional in the NGX? I suppose it would be used to warn the cabin crew of imminent takeoff/landing, and sure would beat toggling off and on the actual seatbelts signs.Regarding the ORBX rumors, I wonder if a special discount on ORBX scenery packages with NGX purchase is in the works, a promotion to bring in more sales and attention to ORBX during the landmark PMDG NGX launch!

I like how I got somewhat excited about that, and thought to myself: Great, no more sticky notes, or calling with the last flight number. Those things, being in many aircraft, are actually pretty useful, for me anyway.
You can also enter the flight number into the FMC and view it at any time just by hitting PROG. Goes for all our jet airliners, the MD-11 MDCU has a similar feature.

That's just the no smoking sign with a different label on it. Pilots have long used it to signal the cabin crew for things like letting them know it's ok to get up and begin their service on climbout. It is functional, yes.
