Yup, I'll take a bet that there'll be a few 'sickies' thrown the day after that gets released.Al

I just picked up the MD-11X! :) Hopefully it won't take too long to get here... For anyone who has the retail box version, is the printed manual pretty nice?
Good choice. :( Make sure you download the advanced tutorial from our site too.http://www.precision...loads/docs.htmlAngle of Attack, who I mentioned earlier, also has an MD-11 training course that's in progress on their site. I've watched most of what's online so far and it's very good.http://www.flyaoamedia.com/blog/md11/

CLS or QualityWings are a good start for a beginner, although I'd recommend the PMDG 747X and learning everything by following the tutorial flight until you can start from cold and dark, program the fmc, and ready to taxi in 10 minutes.
That's my recommendation too. I found that I learned the most from the PMDG 747 tutorials. After doing those, I quickly understood almost all other Boeing aircraft.

You guys really need to recommend a short haul aircraft for this guy to learn on and one that he will be using for a long time. Must people park their 747 in favor of small equipment for the type routes and time that they have. I would recommend the Captain Sim or QualityWings aircraft. These would be a good choices.
I agree completely and would recommend the PMDG Jetstream 41. PMDG's documentation is top-notch and this plane is a good challenge and extremely fun to fly. It's not really a heavy but it will teach you a lot of skills that are transferable to the larger jet aircraft.

It is also on sale for 20% off at JRmusic. No more excuses.Ray

aaahhh! you're killin' meI want to get the j41 as well! that looks amazing, I love turboprops.you know the problem I have, is I like to keep my operations real and if I am using the erj145 can I justify realistically bringing in the js41? I guess I could substitute it for b1900 routes and - would that keep it real?

Ciao!
