October 22, 200322 yr So far I have...(fs2004)FSGenesis Galaxy SubscriptionKMIA From Fly TampaFlight 1 Piper (WOAH)FSD PorterActive Sky and FSMeteo (Comparing which I like better)Active CameraFSPUC Reg'dFSNavigatorI also run all the PAI stuff.I like flying single engine more modern and I like it low and realistic. Airports are great but I prefer terrain and scenery over airportsHit me with some other places to spend my cash!!!
October 22, 200322 yr Though I'm cutting back on my payware (those poor folks are forced to waste huge amounts of time upgrading 2K2 products for the new sim), I can recommend the following:Dreamfleet/Flight1 Cessna 310Carenado Cessna 210Carenado DakotaFlight1 Cessna 152Flight1 Meridian (once it's updated for FS9)Flight1 Cessna 421 (though for 2K2, many have it working in FS9. An upgrade is coming)Anything RealAir Simulations does. And for some top notch freeware offerings:Lancair Legacy 2000... just plain sexyAero Commander series... some of the best quality available. PeriodValmet Vinka... again, payware quality at the best possible priceKinda makes ya feel like a kid in a candy store... :-)
October 22, 200322 yr Yeah DreamFleet make beautiful GAs for sure. I really believe that RealAir so far make the most exciting flight dynamics wise with spins and stalls modelled, they have a freeware Cessna 172SP for FS9 that flys better than most payware GAs IMO. Their SIAI-Marchetti SF.260, once updated for FS9 will be a winner again and is regarded by many simmers as the best GA ever made, it is simply a joy to fly...[h4]Best Wishes,Randy J. October 22, 200322 yr Hi,Well, ssems like quite a bit of the GA planes have already been named. And I see you already have FSGenesis. So do you like jets at all? How about Active Camera? Have you heard of it? You can move around your plane, and get out of it on the ground and walk around. Not to mentions the cool pilot view in the VC that has your head bobbing around a little during takeoffs, turns, and turbulence. The PMDG 737NG, where Randy, the guy who posted just before me hangs out, is an incredible jetliner with an unreal amount of realism. I recommend having a fairly powerful system to run it. The RealityXP Garmin 530 and Flight Line Avionics is much nicer than the built in MS stuff. Then last but not least, there's the best little bizjet around, the Eaglesoft Hawker 400XP.Active Camera - www.anticyclone.bePMDG 737NG - www.precisionmanuals.comRealityXP 530 - www.reality-xp.comEaglesoft Hawker - www.eaglesoftdg1.comLinks to my screenshots of the Hawker 400XP are below. But I don't know how much longer they'll remain in the library. So hurry if you want to check them out! One of them also has a shot of the RealityXP 530 in it.Cheers, :-)Jimhttp://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=91974http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=92061http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...&topic_id=92100
October 22, 200322 yr Hi, if you are into GA flying, add some more realistic and functional avionics to the Dreamfleet or FSD planes and you have the best of both worlds. The FSD Porter is a must, as well...Reality XP Flight Line Avionics and Flight Line 530 XP in Dreamfleet Archer...http://mitglied.lycos.de/simdream/warrior.JPGThe Archer
October 22, 200322 yr You are missing Flight1 Meridian - really the best of them all. But it is not FS9 ready yet.Michael J. Michael J.
October 22, 200322 yr You'll love the RealAir Marchetti! The FS2002 version flies just fine in FS9, but an official update (no charge) is on the way.. Bert
October 23, 200322 yr Hey is the EFIS in the Cheyenne part of the Reality XP avionics? I would loke to change out the standart AI.Just found it at your web site! http://www.reality-xp.com/products/JL2/index.htm
October 23, 200322 yr Well I added to my collection FSBuild, FSD Commander 115 Which may be just about my favorite plane, BeachCraft 400 See below)I decided to use the ProjectAI stuff till UT comes out and them maybe even just stick with ProjectAI even with traffic at 100% there is still a ton of GA but almost no Airline Traffic. The RealityXP stuff is calling me, its calling me Hard. I got a taste of the new Avionics that came with the Beachcraft400 and Im loving them.I think I need to get a new Graphics Card anyone have an idea if upgrading from a 9000 Pro Ati to a 9600Pro would help things out any?
October 23, 200322 yr >FSBuild, FSD Commander 115 Which may be just about my favorite>plane, BeachCraft 400 See below)Yes, that plane is pretty killer. I put up some screenshots of a flight with the commander over at this link:http://forum.fsscreenshots.com/dcboard.php...g_id=4054&page=>I think I need to get a new Graphics Card anyone have an idea>if upgrading from a 9000 Pro Ati to a 9600Pro would help>things out any?You should see a decent jump going from the 9000pro to a 9600pro.
October 24, 200322 yr I understand that your'e GA-guy, but when you wanna try something else:The problem with (otherwise outstanding) planes like the PPS Airbus is that when your'e done with planning, FMC programming and engine start and are airborn, the fun is over until you land. However there are steps between the Porter and a 747. Try the old commercials, Flight1 DC-9 is my favourite, Captain Sim 727 is fun too!The DC-9 has a understandable and quite easy startup procedure, short preflight time, and (if you choose to forget the GPS) some work to do in the air as well. With FSNavigator you can do a navaid to navaid trip, and even land by hand if you like, it doesn't handle like a whale in the air ;)I also get a kick, after landing the DC-9, when I climb into a WW2 fighter and get bananas over some big city. Place the camera at some landmark (Liberty statue is good), do some aerobics, and watch yourself afterwards. I've built my own Spitfire by assembling parts from different aircrafts. Aeroplane Heaven have a nice P47D and Boomerang, try them!Upside down under London Bridge in home-made Spitfire:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44784.jpgThe same:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44785.jpgAeroplane Heaven P47D in New York:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44786.jpgThe same:http://forums.avsim.net/user_files/44787.jpgBestEagle
October 24, 200322 yr Most certainly get the FSD Cheyenne (Gmax for FS9) if you are looking for a small twin turbine. Also I just added the reality-xp Jet Line 2 avionics to it tonight and its no simply amazing!
