October 28, 200322 yr Yep! Same here! I was wondering what the heck triggered that..........Thanks for the heads up!!
October 28, 200322 yr Same thing happened to me. It threw me for a loop, but after reading this post, it did happen after the DLT change. This never happened with prior versions. Strange.Scott
October 28, 200322 yr >I suppose someone could set the date back on their system,>restart FS9 and then reset the date to current to try it out,>but I don't think it's worth the effort. I checked by resetting to Friday the 24th and back to today's date. Presto Re-indexo both times. I don't know why time change affects scenery (my ignorance, not MS's), but I can verify that the time change is the trigger.Kevin
October 28, 200322 yr The same thing happened to me too!! I also thought I might have installed something new, but when I tried to remember I couldn't. Maybe the scenery indexing has to do with the loss of daylight or something (mere speculation, the idea just popped into my head)
October 28, 200322 yr Hi,This also happened to my scenery files when i loaded the sim.But unfortunately it did something to them and now all my scenery has gone quite "blurry" :-(Any ideas how I can fix it...ThanksMark :-)
October 28, 200322 yr KevinYou're a gentleman and a scholar. That confirms it.I know that the entire world doesn't have the time switch and I believe there are still several counties in Indiana US, I think, that do not go to Daylight Savings Time. Perhaps this is why a reindex is necessary, because some areas do and some areas don't and it's not just a matter of turning an indicator on and off.I'm a noob to FS and just started with COF, but I have read of some very strange time zone switches encountered by other people while flying. I have not ventured far enough into the FS9 world yet to see any of these. If I did, I was probably too busy with the instruments and didn't notice. From what I've read, MS seems to have had a problem with time in general.
October 28, 200322 yr Thanks for the post Mark, the blurry thing happened here too and I haven't figured out what to do about it? Any ideas anyone?
October 29, 200322 yr Same here. In FS2002 and FS2004. I suspected, that it might have to do with the "time change", which is now confirmed.Wolfgang
October 29, 200322 yr Author Mike,I'm in the Pacific time zone and I'm also stuck on DST. I have tried resetting my system calendar before the time change and back again with no luck. Everyone is talking about a scenery reindex, but that didn't happen on my system after I saw the Windows notice that the time had been adjusted. I wonder why some systems were reindexed and others were not? It's really screwing up the sim because the sunset and sunrise times are now one hour off. Does anyone know how to fix this problem?Bruce
October 29, 200322 yr Author I found the instructions from a previous post one year ago when people were wrestling with the same problem. The instructions are listed here:http://forums.avsim.net/dcboard.php?az=sho...mode=full#58584
