how to get the FMS from descent back to cruise mode?

Featured Replies

Hi all,I have a problem with my FMS.After a 2000ft descent enroute (with 5 hours to go (EHAM-SBGR) to avoid turbulence, my FMS entered descent mode. also I received the insufficient fuel warning. How can I tell the FMS to return to cruise mode like it should?Best regards,Rico.

Don't know about the crash, I have had the same issue in the past with DESC mode. My solution is to re-input the cruise altitude in the INIT page. (excuse me if the INIT page is the wrong one, but wherever you initially input the cruise alt). This should fix your problem.Good luck!

And do it prior to descending.

After descending, it's all the same. Just input the new altitude and when you are at it it will reenter cruise. Also the crash should not have happened. Windows7/Vista?

Thanks for the reply! I will try it as soon as I have my PC back up and running.I had a problem with my CPU's running high without cause. this probably also caused the FSX crash.I scanned for virus/spyware etc. re-installed drivers. nothing worked. So I am re-installing windows, hoping that would fix the problem.I'll let you know! Thanks.Rico.
