ISG glass HSI

Recommended Posts

I installed the ISG smiths FMS in the Tinmouse v1.30 and it works right. The standard HSI shows the correct data from the FMS. However, when I try to add the ISG glass HSI, it doesn't work anymore. The glass HSI doesn't show the correct data from the FMS, LNAV doesn't work and the course knob has also become inoperative. I also miss the EFIS/EHSI control panel in the config files. This is my panel.cfg:

I installed the ISG smiths FMS in the Tinmouse v1.30 and it works right. The standard HSI shows the correct data from the FMS. However, when I try to add the ISG glass HSI, it doesn't work anymore. The glass HSI doesn't show the correct data from the FMS, LNAV doesn't work and the course knob has also become inoperative. I also miss the EFIS/EHSI control panel in the config files. This is my panel.cfg:
It's probably because a fair bit of the code that talks to the external LNAV units is in the HSI. Try putting a teeny tiny HSI back into the panel, i.e. gauge68=B732ADV!hsi, 1,3,1,1 and see if that brings things back to life. Also, if you use the ISG Smiths FMS, you're going to want to change that gauge67 line to keep a small copy of that gauge on the main panel, too, otherwise it's likely to lag badly. I haven't been flying for a while, so excuse me for this late reply.I followed your advice and by adding a 1x1 pixel HSI, the ISG glass HSI actually works, so thank you for that! :Applause:What I don't understand, is why I should add 'gauge67=isg1!GNSXLS_LM, 1, 800, 1, 1, Tinmouse' in the panel.cfg. I removed that from the one posted above, because the LNAV mode didn't work with it. Now I added it again and just like last time the LNAV mode didn't work. I deleted the gauge again and now things are working perfectly alright. This is my current panel.cfg for the Tinmouse II in FSX:

Please note I added an EFIS control panel to the upper radiostack panel (window07) using FS Panel Studio. My retrofitted Boeing 737-200 is now complete! :(

If you don't fly with an open window that has the ISG FMS on it, then it will lag badly. Adding a small invisible copy of the FMS to the main panel forces it to update on each FS tick (18 times per second). If you are using the Smiths FMS, that line should be changed to have a copy of that FMS and not the GNSXLS. And, of course, you can only have one gauge67, so you have to renumber things. If you fly in windowed mode and use a second monitor with a subpanel open which contains the FMS, then this would not be an issue. But "out of sight, out of mind" is how FS works...RegardsBob ScottColonel, USAF (ret)ATP IMEL Gulfstream II-III-IV-VColorado Springs, CO
