October 29, 200322 yr Commercial Member Hi Everybody!!I recentlty bought a new 3D Blaster FX 5900 Ultra, and I'm very happy with it...it performs good, from 15 to 40 FPS, depending on where you fly...exept chicago, that, performs 8 FPS...but i never fly there, so...My video settings are maxed, exept for bilinear filtering and ground scenery shadows, extended terrain textures....it works fine...the dirver is set to anisotropic off and AntiAlias to "Application", and intyellisample to "Performance"...i seimply don't notice the graphics difference, but get more FPS when possible...(detonators 52.16...)So, flying pretty good, but, as I land FPS drops mistriously to 1.00 FPS and stands there...even if I set to minium all graphic settings....STRANGE!! I read this seems to be a FSCoF bug...or is there a solution for that?? Setting priority class in the task manager (Win XP) to Real time (the hightest) at least gets out 4 FPS at ground...but still very bad!! why when I take off the reach sometimes 30?? They sdhould be aleways that...(Well my system performs strange...never stable FPS, from 10 to 40 changing continuously...)OK...the processor is Athlon XP 1800+, AGP 4x, newest VIA drivers etc....newest detonators...what should I do?? you can't roll your plane at 1 FPS!! (I mean always 1.00 clean...no variation...but bolts up when I stop the plane...hmmmm). HELP!!!! I loved to roll to gates...and it's impossible even to move a small twin...Can you help??
October 29, 200322 yr Mario, this is not normal behavior... start by going back to some settings that work right. You should be seeing around 20 fps both on the ground and the air.. instead of settings "maxed".. go back to one of the Microsoft default settings and turn the weather to "clear skies".Then let us know if you still have problems and give us some details about your config.. and we may be able to help you.Definitely select ground shadows off and traffic to less than 50% along with water effects low to start..1024x768x32 resolution, anistropic to 4x should be fine.Experiment with anti-aliasing settings.. I would start with AA off in the flight sim and set to 2x, or off in the display properties settings. Bert
October 29, 200322 yr I have had no problems from the beginning with CoF and have logged close to 60 hours with about as many landings but that recently happened to me at KMSO. Exactly how you said it happens to you. exactly 1 FPS while moving on the ground but as soon as you stop or take off it Frames back to normal. I was using the 45.23 drivers but noticed the problem after installing the new 52.16. Not saying that is the problem but never saw that happen before daylight savings time which re indexed my scenery and the adding of the new drivers. Went back to hte old drivers but havent really flown alot since then. Can say that it happened twice out of three times at KMSO.NP
