I still love my noctua. Its incredible and provides good cooling for air on a 4.0ghz overlock. The only problem is that it is HUGE.And please no comments about cable management :(

I have an ASUS P6T X58 Chipset with an i7 [email protected] Ghtz. and 8Gb of ram in dual channel and H50 Water Cooling.Running FSX on "ULTRA HIGH SETTINGS" CPU temp won't pass 45 Celsius. My overclocking to 4.1 Ghtz boosted CPU temp to 70 Celsius!

The Noctua NH-D14 has compared favourably with water cooling in reviews. And what's more it is reputed to be unbelievably quiet. Personally I'm considering to replace all my fans with Noctua to quiet things down and then maybe try the D14. It barely fits in my box and M/B, if I insulate the fan clips so that they don't short the GPU :(

Bad move buddy. It'll be 2 years old before you fire up the NGX.

Noctua fans are really not that good for the price. They are enough for a great cooler like the NH-D14, but they struggle under restriction and are way overpriced. You should be looking at getting some Nidec (Scythe) Gentle Typhoons instead, those are the best all around fans, silent and extremely efficient

Well, I haven't searched for a review on the scythe fans yet, but from a cursory examination I see the following: It's a touch louder than the Noctua P12 fan set on maximum and its air flow is less for more RPM. Am I missing something?PS: I'm not looking for an all around fan. That's part of the appeal of Noctua fans. I'm looking for specific fans for different jobs (high pressure cooler fan, high pressure case fans for cramped spaces, low pressure case fans for the rear).
