January 9, 201115 yr Our PurposeMidwest Virtual Airlines was founded with the purpose of combining realism, challenge and fun into a single virtual airline environment so that pilots had a one-stop location where they could receive their flight simulation fix. What Makes Us UniqueFirst and foremost, Midwest Virtual Airlines is founded on the idea of being an airline BY THE PILOTS, FOR THE PILOTS. This airline takes every thought and idea from every pilot into consideration. Each and every person has the ability to directly influence and change the airline, from the top, down.Second, as a pilot, you're not merely flying for more hours, but you're flying for finances through VAFS, for the success of the airline, and as a partner of the airline. We don't see you as just virtual employees, but rather as partners of our airline. Your successes are our successes and our successes are your successes.Third, you as the pilot get the opportunity to help us determine our fleet, routes, business models/plans, and future expansion plans. Most of our ideas and plans for expansion are open to all of our pilots/members to discuss, weigh in on and even vote on. At Midwest Virtual Airlines, you get a say in how things are done. Our FleetMidwest Virtual Airlines is currently flying three aircraft. We are operating with realism in mind. So, to keep that focus, we ensure that before leasing any aircraft that we believe the routes will be feasible, that they'll cover the costs of the aircraft, and that the aircraft are safe, complex yet easy to fly, and are available on both versions of flight simulator (FS9 and FSX) before adding them to our fleet. We currently fly the:Boeing 737-800 (Default FSX - repainted) (POSKY FS9 - repainted)Boeing 767-300 (POSKY FSX - repainted) (POSKY FS9 - repainted) (LevelD - texture available)ERJ-135 (charter flights - POSKY for FSX/FS9 - repainted).Hubs & RoutesSimulating a realistic operation of a regional airline, during our starting months, we currently only have one HUB: Detroit Metro Airport (KDTW). This services many cities, such as: Chicago, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Indianapolis, New York, Boston, and even as far as Denver. Our charter routes include flights in Las Vegas, Denver, Salt Lake City, Los Angeles as well as other popular cities from the west.As we begin to grow, we'll start looking into route and fleet expansion. When we do this, you will be able to contribute to our expansion plan by giving your thoughts on which cities/routes to add, and which aircraft, etc... Your contributions will help decide our future, one step at a time.Website & Other FeaturesAny good virtual airline has a complete, nice looking, and well-maintained website. Midwest Virtual Airlines is no exception. We have recently released Version 2.0 of our website, which now provides easy access to our: roster, fleet information & downloads, ACARS Flight Map, Financials, Routes, Recent PIREPS, Forums, and much, much more.As we all know, communication amongst our fellow pilots is a main factor that is taken into consideration when choosing an airline to fly with. Midwest Virtual Airlines understands this and that is why we're proud to say we offer several means of communications. First, and foremost, we provide our own TeamSpeak3 server. Once you join, you get access to our TS3 server, and may use it to your hearts content. Secondly, we have a forum for our pilots and future pilots to interact in, share photos, screen shots and stories of their wildest landings, flights, or just chat some time away. In the coming months, we also hope to expand our communication options in an exciting way. So if you're interested or have any questions, please email us at: [email protected] and we'll be more than glad to help you out. Be sure to stop by our newly finished website, explore a bit, and join if you so desire. We look forward to growing steadily in the coming weeks, and know that those who join, will always enjoy their time here at Midwest Virtual Airlines. Thank you for your time, and have an awesome 2011!www.MidwestVirtual.netSincerely,Matt HunterChief Executive Officerwww.MidwestVirtual.net
