FS9 Freezing at rotation

Recommended Posts

Hi all,I run FS9 on Windows XP-32 with S.Pack-3, I have a registerd Fsuipc copy and I almost only fly LD-767 and PMDG-737&747. I also use Gamebooster and AVG antivirus with main functions deactivated before starting FS9. The problem is that when I move backwards the joystick (Thrustmaster T-Flight Stick X) for rotation FS9 freezes for a fraction of second.Edit: To be more precise, the micro-freezing takes place when the aircraft is already in some nose up attitude, say 2 or 3 degrees. So, the initial joystick movement might not be the origin of the problem, and the title of the topic should be "FS9 freezing AFTER rotation" Afterwards everything is ok and the flight goes on normally.Any idea about a solution?. Thanks in advance.

Ok, problem spotted and solved. Finally I have discovered that it was my fault.I had installed an alternative sound (by FS Sound Studio).Reverted to the original LevelD sound and...bingo! : takeoffs are smooth as silk again.Couldn't imagine that a sound pack could cause such troubles.

It's most likely because the rotation sound file is bad or missing. The sure way to find out is to use filemon to see which sound file FS9 was calling at the time of the problem. And in case the file is missing filemon will show that. But then again reverting back to the original sound pack works too. Personally I find most of my top notch addon planes to have very good default sounds, most of the time better than 3rd party. Just because a sound package is 3rd party doesn't necessarily mean that it was developed with more care and effort than the original.
