New Sandy Bridge Build Memory Question

Recommended Posts

Hi GuysAm putting together new Sandy Bridge build and am moving from i5 570 @ 3.6Ghz to i5 Sandy 2500k at hopefully 4.7Ghz with a H70 Cooler. I have been using GSKILL F3 12800 DDR3 PC 1600Mhz Memory Cas 8 with my old system. Would this memory be good for the new build or should I be thinking about something else. The system components are:Sandy i5 2500kNvidia 570GTXH70 CoolerI am still thinking about upgrading to SSD's for the operating system and a seperate one for FSX but its still pretty expensive....ThanksHamish

Hi Hamish,That memory is most likely running at 1.65V. To run it safely in SB it will have to runt 1.5V. This means your latency will increase. I recommend 8GB of Mushkin Redline 1600MHz CL6 at 1.65V. This can run at 1600MHZ CL7 at 1.5V.
