Missing Key Command

Recommended Posts

Guest kestrel

hi,I seem to have deleted (by mistake) a key command when I was assigning them to my joystick. I list the key commands while I am in FS2004 under "assignments" and the "F2" command (decrease thottle) is not listed their. The function works with my keyboard, but I can't assign it to my joystick. I am using a Microsoft joystick. Is there a way that I can "add" this function back to the list so I can assign this function to my joystick? Thanks,Tom

The Throttle assignment is accomplished under the Setting, Assignments, Joystick Axes tab. Arrow down to the throttle axis, press change assignment, then move your joystick throttle control. It should assign the throttle control to the axes. Press OK, then exist FS2004 to save all the changes.Note: If you don't exit FS2004 and experience a program fault during flight, your changes won't be saved in the FS9.cfg file and you will have to reassign the axis.W. I THINK you are asking how to assign a joystick button to F2 (Decrease Throttle) rather than how to assign/setup the throttle axis.If I am right, then go into the assignments menu. You will find that for FS2004, F2 is now assigned to "reverse thrust" in the menu (with a repeat function). If what you want the F2 key to do is Decrease Throttle, then go to that function, click on it, then click on "Change Key Assignment". When the small window comes up, hit F2 on the keyboard, and follow instructions by answering quesitons to have it do what you want. Then, once you have the F2 key reassigned, you can next assign it to the button you want in the normal fashion via the assignments menu. HTH,Paul
