Nvidia configuration guide (Inspector + 2xx.xx drivers) version 2.0 + explanations of all settings

Recommended Posts

Ryan. I am using two GTX460 cards (Factory o/c) set up in SLI mode on a i7-950 rig. I have set up in Inspector the 8xS version. Could you tell me what my settings should be in the SLI section of the Inspector. Thanks,

Rick Hobbs

I went and uninstalled the nvidia drivers. Did a Driver sweep, and upon restart Vista re-installed the drivers...How do I stop that? I believe this may be my whole issue...
ok after you uninstall the drivers, do not reboot yet, on your c drive should be your programs files (x86) folder click it, then find this folder, delete the folder (nvidia corporation) also just on the c drive there is a folder called (nvidia) delete this also this is where the drivers are, reboot in safe mode, use driver sweeper, then reboot in windows, and install your new driver, thats it, i put another post just up top, read it. james wyatt

Did you reinstall the service packs for FSX as well? if not then its not surprising that FSX is running worse now.

Try turning off the EVGA precision overlay I found it quite buggy in FSX and it tended to lower the frame rate quite a bit.

Cheers, Andy.

Thanks James,I have an nVidia 470GTXWhen I pan outside the plane, straight lines like fences or taxiways dance in front of my eyes creating that barber pole effect I am talking about. The plane also shows ugly graphics. For example, the MilViz 310 grills on top of the engines, they also dance with the effect. Any lettering on the plane as registration numbers etc, also dance.I hope you can see these pictures and see what i am talking abouthttp://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u132/sersanchez/2.jpghttp://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u132/sersanchez/1.jpgThese pictures I took with my old 8800GT cardhttp://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u132/sersanchez/N131UPb.jpghttp://i167.photobucket.com/albums/u132/sersanchez/duke2.jpgThe easiest way I can see this, is the cables on the trike. With my old card, they looked like straight lines, now they look like a bunch of dots drawn in line.

Ryan, I have a GTS 250 card with the latest drivers. Using your instructions, everything looks great with no shimmering anywhere. I do have one problem however, where my GPU tends to sound like a vacuum cleaner when the load is high (mostly in clouds). Are there any settings that would allow me to keep most of the good graphics, but reduce the GPU load a bit to quiet my fan noise? Thanks for all your help here.

Ryan - are you still using the 266.58 drivers? I have tried the 270.61 and using the settings at the head of this thread find my display is not as crisp so have reverted back. Of course if the 266.58 are good for the NGX then that is just dandy.
