hi there i have geforce 9300M for my laptop. When i set anti aliasing from f9 settings menu, what i get is a "bad"- running simulator. Is the Nvidia inspector helps with anti aliasing and simulator performance

Hi Experts!

I lost my previous Nvidia Inspector setting, because of a PC problem. I had to make a full reinstall of FS9. FS9 was alrdy running quite fine, but now, after the reinstallation and finding this thread, my sim is running better than ever. I am using the 4xS setting version and I don´t have any frame hits so far.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!!

Hardware:

MSI P45 NEO Mainboard

E8400 CPU

Gainward 9800 GTX+

Corsair Dual Channel 4 GB

WIN XP 32

Sofware:

FS9 4Gig Patch, it works but dunno if there is really a difference

Active Sky Evolution

REX HD Clouds

Nvidia Driver 301.42

I tested the HD Clouds with an overcast weather and rain. Runs perfectly! Little bit astonishing finding this in the PMDG General Forum Big%20Grin.gif :Cowboy:

Thanks again and keep up the good work.

I have followed Ryan's instructions to the letter with the nvidia inspector and I still have the jagged lines. They only seem to be around the engines, wings and tail on the NGX. Anybody have any suggestions? On some of my other aircraft its even worse.

With Nvidias latest drivers thats probably about as good as its going to get. You could up your AA settings more but then your going to run into performance issues.

I hope someone can help me.

It's been a while since I flown the J41. When I flew it in the past the VC looked fantastic. When I tried flying it today the VC was almost too blurry to fly. I could not read most of the buttons or gauges. This is what it looks like now. I have 4xs settings with a GTX 570 and the 296.10 driver. My Samsung 932GW is set to 1440x900 native res.

Thanks for any input.

Chuck,

That really doesn't look wrong to me there. Try adding the FXAA option to the 4xS - that's what I've been flying with lately - it smooths things out nicely and it looks relatively close to the 8xS modes but without as much blurring from the supersampling and with hardly any of the stutter you can get in heavy clouds or at really detailed addon airports like FSDT KLAX or the new Flightbeam KPHX when using high levels of supersampling.

You guys do have to keep in mind here that it's actually impossible to totally get rid of aliasing - especially at very shallow angles to the aliased line or polygon boundary - viewed from above or closer to 90 degrees straight on, you won't see that effect on the wing lines. It's just a mathematical necessity that it does that - it's trying to display more information than there are physical pixels on the monitor to represent it for those particular types of objects at those extreme angles. No matter how much AA you apply there's always going to be some of it. Displaying 3D scenes on 2D monitors is never going to look exactly like a real true 3D scene does in real life.

Thanks for your response Ryan. I tried FXAA option and I did not see any improvement. Under any other circumstance I would not say it was a problem but I've seen it look much better. It would be nice to know what changed to get it back to that.

Good day all,

Are the Nvidia Inspector settings still valid for the 3xx.xx drivers?

Thanks in advance for your input (will await the reply before updating my drivers)!
