Heading problem at EGLC

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys,Just recently I noticed for the first time that around my addon London City airport the Tower bridge and many autogen buildings were misplaced in the Thames and other areas. To cut a long story short, I pressed the "Y" button for the slew function and then the space bar which would normally set your aircraft facing due North, which in this case it still does. But, after pressing Shift + Z the heading indication at the top of my screen shows variable headings but never anything near 360 degrees. This only happens in a large area around EGLC and is independant of aircraft type inwhich the magnetic compasses all correctly show due North. I'm convinced that this problem is the basic cause of my object misplacemants. I've de-activated all my UK addon airports and any other UK scenery, even the contents (block by block) of the EURW/scenery folder, all to no avail. I would have expected that the heading indication at the top of my screen would originate from the aircraft's own compass heading.Ideas anyone ?Hans

Note that when you press the spacebar you are pointing true north. This will be different from the magnetic north used by the compass and the letters on the top of the screen (in fact by the magnetic variance of the area, which varies).Hope this helps,

Hi Guys,Thanks for your reactions. Via one of your supplied links I found a forum post saying that the latest version of the Algerian airport Bejaia (DAAE) was causing all kinds of compass heading problems in far away parts of the world and de-activating this airport certainly cured my heading problem at EGLC. Probably also in many other areas which I hadn't even noticed yet. One problem solved. However, it didn't cure my problem concerning the sudden misplaced London objects. If I take the famous London Bridge as an example, this object is positioned via the native FS9 file "London.bgl" (in the EURW/scenery folder) but it's now positioned near the Eastern end of EGLCs runway 28, about a mile away from where it should be.I'd be very greatful for any further ideas as to how even a native FS9 BGL could be influenced in this way.Hans
