January 30, 201115 yr I know that some add-ons require the RTM version of SimConnect to work OK, either perhaps due to the age of the add-on (predates the SP1/2), or to create commonality between users. I'm having trouble with the SimConnect installation in the RTM version, but seem to get the later versions of it installed through SP1 and SP2. How significant is it, from an add-on perspective, to have the RTM version working correctly? I note that many add-ons require either SP1 or SP2 installed, and wonder if they are accessing the later version(s) of SimConnect? Thanks for any info, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.
January 30, 201115 yr Hi,What kind of trouble is SC giving you on the RTM install? It is all pretty automatic. SC can also be installed using the SDK found on DVD 1.

January 30, 201115 yr G'day Bruce,Reading Pete's reply to you it sounds like you need to follow NickN's thread , and you should be sweet. His win 7 and FSX install guide is the best you will get. Follow it completely and don't leave anything out, including the O & O defrag.http://www.simforums...187.html#198187You may have already been there, but just in case......CheersJulian

Pete is correct regarding the way to install the SP's. Unfortunately, it won't fix the RTM version of SimConnect (and I still don't know how important that is to have, given that many add-ons may look for the later versions of SC that get installed with the SP's).Great to hear from you, has the ground done shaking under your feet yet? I believe the aftershocks have been going on for months! Thanks, Bruce. ASEL, Instrument. KBJC, Colorado.

Has boosted the economy though, even builders etc have come over from Australia to work on the clean up. CheersJulian
