Catalyst 3.8 and 3.9 are caca on my Granite Bay board

Don't know why, but very unstable, nothing added in the way of improved performance or capability, since trying 3.8 and 3.9. I have weird crashes in FS, VPU recover activates, loss of sync on my Sony GDM-F520. None of this happened with 3.7s on back. Any other Granite Bayers with similar issues? I used the Uninstall utility prior to installing new drivers, which went without a hitch.Noel

3.8 did not fix anything. 3.9 does resolve the flickering and in my opinion has also improved fsp...Did you completely uninstalled 3.8 before installing 3.9?If you are familiar with the registry, I would suggest removing all previous 'Radeon' entries after uninstalling 3.8 and before installing 3.9...Try this uninstaller: http://www.ati.com/support/drivers/misc/catalystutils.htmlTroy

Thanks Troy. I did manage to clean it all out and settled back on 3.7s, and now I have wonderful performance once again. Man that was weird for about 3 days from changing drivers back and forth I was having some sort of problem and I'm not really sure what happened, since I did in fact use the uninstaller as well as deleted the driver n control panel in add/remove programs first. I ran DirectX install again, and I don't know if that's what did it but I am back to awesome performance once again. The degraded perf came over several days. I had the VPU recover thing do its routine, plus I had a few lost syncs to my monitor, which I never had before. And I got them with 3.8s and 3.9s. I may get brave again and try the 3.9s some time, but really, I'm getting super performance once again. As I look back, I think it's been really not quite right for about a month.Noel
