FSX CRASHES WHEN USING MENUS

Recommended Posts

I see Windows 7 is talked to, but what about XP?

I have a smiliar problem with the Menu Bar locking up whenever I try and utilize one of the tabs.

Currently have Ver 6.0.5840.16386 of the UIAutomationCore.dll, Have searched but cannot come up with a usable site to download the XX.XXX.1800 version.

The only recent add-on has been AccuFeel.

Windows XP, SP1 and 2

Cheers

Neil

It's only a Windows 7 issue, Neil, and doesn't apply to XP.

The correct version (there were two) is no longer the 6.0.6001.18000. It is replaced with 6.0.5840.16386.

You can download it from here.

Simply rename it to UIAutomationCore.dll and place it into your FSX root folder.

Cheers..

Paul, your DLL fix seems to have resolved my menuing problems so far on FSX SP2 + a few add ons + Windows 7. It became unusable with FSInn for VATSIM which frustrating and embarassing with explaining PC issues to TWR on the tarmac. I'm going to keep my fingers crossed but I did wish to express my thanks to you for this.

the "uiautomation.dll" is awesome on my system: no more crashes for me, i'm clicking menus like a maniac all day with no fsx crashes since i put that file in my fsx directory.

So, what is the final verdict, folks? What version we need to use?

Are you having crashes?  Suggest you take a look at the AVSIM CTD Guide located to the right of this forum under Hot Spots.  It explains the uiautomationcore.dll.  It is not recommended for the latest systems unless you are getting Menu crashes or right clicking your mouse and selecting an option at least 19 times and the sim crashes.  This is an old topic.  Topic locked.  If you are having crashes, please post your AppCrashView report in a new topic.
