Seeking info on adding AI traffic for specific airports in FSX

AI is AI, regardless of the platform the user is employing (FSX or FS9). There are no fundamental disadvantages of using FS9 AI models/flightplans in FSX, you just have to make the effort to convert the flightplans to FSX format first. And the only other caveat is some texture issues (opaque canopies, messed up props) but those can be corrected with conversion tools. I have plenty of FS9 flightplans (at the moment, it seems 95% of user submitted fps are FS9 native) working in conjunction with Ultimate Traffic 2 to add obscure airliners/charters, bizjet, and military traffic to my skies. In fact, if you use Ultimate Traffic 2 you have an advantage vs FS9 bgl traffic. UT2's utilization of Simconnect to inject AI into FSX, versus the older bgl process, gives the users some benefits FS9 users do not get:- the option to disable "sleep" ground traffic when the user plane is above a set altitude, to improve FPS. (I have mine set at 15000ft AGL). This won't disable active flights, just the ones sitting at the gates/tarmac, which you will not notice when you are high above.- the ability to "zap" conflicting traffic on finals, preventing air to air crashes or go arounds.- the option of disabling UT2 traffic altogether, momentarily by keystroke, if your FPS is suffering too much at a busy hub. - the use of similar keystroke ability to reduce/enhance AI density to gain FPS.Ultimate Traffic 2 offers the user so much more flexibility to manage AI activity when needed if frames drop at busy hubs, or to tailor the density of traffic to their liking according to the capabilities of they hardware, versus the fixed bgl approach of AI traffic.

Raymar:I added your airports to my system, KBIX and KGPT, using Military AIWORKS SE ANG, and KGPT airport for FS2004. Attached are screen shots from each. As you can see, there is traffic.Hope this helps.Bill MortonFSX with Acceleration, Windows 7 x64
Thanks Bill. Since I posted this, I have upgraded my pc and I didn't bring over any of the WOAI stuff. I downloaded a ton of it and I couldn't get any of it to work in FSX with my airports. I will take another look at it because I really would like to see some traffic at KBIX.rAY
Raymar,There are issues with adding military AI to both sims. As already stated, there is no parking at airports that are just military. And parking at mixed airports is for civil aircraft. Military planes will park in those spots if no other places are open. If you search the Avsim library, you can find military AI packages. Some include everything you need to get up and running. The only problems with using FS9 planes in FSX are prop and glass texture issues. But the planes work, and texture problems can be corrected. If you use something like Airport Design Editor, you can fix airports in both sims as needed. As already stated, FS9 flightplans should be corrected for use in FSX with AIFP so that days of the week are correct. Also, FS9 flightplans, used in FSX, cancel default FSX flights in your traffic area. But default flights from outside your traffic area start to show after 15 minutes or so. A good way to get to know your sim is to get to know ADE (Airport Design Editor) as well as AIFP. You will be amazed at what you can do. Bob
Thanks Bob for the info. I have been busy just getting a new pc loaded and running. I will have to get back to this and figure it out. I never did get any of the military stuff to work in my fsx. Ray

Thanks 767fan for the info on UT2. I will take a serious look at it as it sounds like a complete package that even I should be able to configure and use.Ray
