As many of us have moved onto x64 OS' maybe this can help get the Dreamfleet GAs back in the air. :( Hi everybodyI've been running a FS9 install on XP x32 to keep my Reality-XP equipped GAs in the air, with another FS9 on Win 7 x64 for my heavy stuff. Thought I'd finally have a go at getting the Dreamfleet Dakota in the air in Win7 x64, and after much pulling out of hair (and buying the GNS430 WAAS) I've managed to get it working at last.I couldn't see any earlier posts claiming success, so here's an overview of what I did (leaving aside all the CTDs and other weird errors whilst I was experimenting).Firstly replaced ALL mentions of the old 430 with the new WAAS unit in the panel.cfg file (I also did the 1280 panel, not sure if this is necessary, but it worked). Also had to replace any mentions of the GTX340 and 327 with the new WAAS models otherwise they wouldn't turn on. Still had some CTDs, traced it to the RXPGNS430.ini file in the base Dakota directory. The WAAS unit places a RXPGNS.ini file there as well, and I guess they were confusing each other so deleted the RXPGNS430.ini file. Last thing was to edit the RXPSTACK.ini file to lose the 'old' 430 and use the WAAS setup program to add the WAAS 430 and 327/340 gauges (popups and in the stack).All seems to work a treat, if anyone is interested and it's not breaking the law I'm happy to post the contents of all the various *.ini files I had to edit.I'm going to do the A36, B58 and Archer III with the new WAAS units (bought both the 430 and 530 WAAS), let me know if anyone is interested in these 'updates' as well.Woo Hoo! That would be cool if you get the A36 back in the air. I do have it and it was a really nce one, but unfourtunatley the old RXP gauges weren´t compatible with 64 bit, so she´s sleeping on the shleve. I know that I have to but the new gauges, but I maybe will and use it with the A 36 (if you get it back) and the Beech Duke.

Got the A36, B58 and Archer III done now. Only the 3308 EFIS gauge won't talk to the WAAS unit, so I've replaced that in the B58 panel with the KI525 and kept the 3308 as a popup in the B58 for it's map and the stormscope. Pretty happy right now! :( Cheers, SLuggy

That's too bad. My FS install is C:\FS9, is UAC sticking it's ugly head in again? Did you run the WAAS config file, maybe the settings for that need to be updated somewhere else? The Dakota is definitely running fine on mine, just flew from PHNL to PHLO and enjoyed the view all the way.It's doable, and worth it IMHO. SLuggy,I finally got a chance to reinstall the Dakota and the WASS430. I believe that all I need to do now is to the run the WASS manager and move your config information into Dakota Panel Folder replacing the current config file. Is that correct?Also I did take a short flight with the Dakota, but of course with missing radio panels, and I had no CTD with the basic aircraft.Tom

Ok, I had a problem, but I believe that the problem is very fixable and caused by me. Although I did not CTD, flight sim failed to load in it initial steps. Prior to failing it stated that I could only have one copy of FSUIPC.dll in my modules folder. Of course I only have one copy of the library in the folder. What I think happened was that when I ran the Reality XP Configuration Tool it linked to a parts of previosly stored version of FS9 stored in another folder and found a backup copy of my module folder. I even ran the Flight1 Registry Repair Tool but that did not fix the problem.Prior to installing the Reality XP software package I had created a restore point under W7. Once I reloaded the restore point everything again worked. What I need to do now is locate/search for all stored copies of the Reality XP ini files stored on my drive and deleted them and then reinstall the package. I never got to a point to see if a could run the Dakota with your configuration data.We have guests comming in a couple of hours so I'll try another installation of the Reality XP Software Package again later in the week.Tom

The three files I created and their names were:PANEL.CFG (in the 1280 format)RXPGNS.INIRXPSTACK.INII then placed the three files per your directions in their folders and booted the sim. The Dakota loaded but it does not display panel at all in the 2D mode and in the VC mode it displays the panel but no gauges. I did not run the RXP Configuration Tool. I assumed that the ini files covered that step.One last question, does [Window 21] and its data elements need to be in correct sequence in the Panel.cfg file?Tom

Hi TimI have noticed sometimes strange things when booting FS9, this sometimes being one of them. I select the default Cessna 172, save the flight and exit /reboot FS9 and things are then OK. The config stuff I posted went into your panel.cfg file, not the panel1280.cfg (what ever it's called :( ). I think there's some more debugging to do here, although what it could possibly be has me flumoxed at this point in time. I'll keep going tho! Strange tho, when it's all working, it IS all working if you get my drift. Not a problem in the world, then you load the plane for your next flight and a CTD suddenly jumps in. Odd.Cheers, SLuggy
