More than one [display.device] section in FS9.cfg

I recently got a new monitor and have been trying out various resolutions. Today I was looking at my fs9.cfg file and noted that there were two sections labelled [display.device...].The first was right after the [sound] section.[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra .0]Mode=1920x1440x32TriLinear=1The second was right after the [flightplanmap] section.[DISPLAY.Device.NVIDIA GeForce FX 5900 Ultra.0]Mode=1600x1200x32TriLinear=1Is this normal? Under "Settings", I had chosen 1600x1200x32. I am using the latest beta driver 52.70.Thanks.

It's because you have changed a display hardware device during your current installation of FS9. Unlike previous versions of FS, the separate display device stanzas are collectively added to the FS9.cfg file every time you change a display device (monitor, graphics card or associated drivers). That way, if you go back to another driver for example, FS9 "remembers" the settings you previously used for that driver simply by referring to the relevant stanza which it kept from the last time you used it.So the answer to your question is: yes, that is normal and correct behaviour. You could delete the unneccesary stanzas if you wish, but you would have to be sure of which ones were no longer relevant to your hardware and driver setup. If you leave them in it won't do any harm. Just make sure your preferences are correctly set from the FS9 GUI and you are fine.
