Does anyone know how to correct the rudder issue with the Saitek Cyborg X? I have tried to calibrate the joystick, reinstalled it, and recreated the fs9.config file. Any other suggestions?

Make sure your autopilot disconnects just before or on landing!vololiberista

Also, hit the Num5 key a couple of times (with num lock off? I think) before starting engines -- that centers all your flight control surfaces, rudder, aelerons, etc. Then make sure your default flight is saved like that.

Does the problem appear randomly? Mine has this problem. I had to open the joystick, unlatched the rudder pot and turned it several times. I reassembled the joystick and the problem was gone for a few weeks until I had to do this again. Maybe a contact cleaner may fix this. Too bad I imported it from the US, otherwise it would have been easier to return it to store. Hope this helps.Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel

Hi,sorry to pick up on this old thead, but i have exactly the same problems just wondered if you have fixed them and how. Many thanks Gareth

Do you have the same problem that the rudder doesn´t respond, no mater what your doing? I had this stick some time ago and he drove me crazy. The first one worked correctly till one day the rudder axis didn´t respond any more. This was i the middle of an flight. Very strange. Tried to fix that but gave up and send him back to the shop. They gave me a new one but after about an month or so exactly the same happened again. This one is stored right beneath me till someone can fix this. Currently flying with an old and pritty used Cyborg Evo. This was my first one and he´s working like on the first day after about 200 hrs of flight time. So I wouldn´t get this stick again if you ask me.

So you say you had the same problem with the rudder axis not responding. If yes, how did you fix this?

Well, I had to take a more radical approach to the problem:

Sorry for reviving a year-old post, but I finally solved my problem: I had to re-solder the wiring to the rudder potentiometer and cover it with glue-gun silicone so that it won't break loose again. Hope this helps.
That was almost 40 days ago and the rudder is still OK. Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel

So you say you had to open the stick and fix the wiring? If I want to do the same, how can I do this?

Yes. You'll need a screwdriver, a soldering iron, and if you're like me, a friend that knows how to solder tongue.png. The stock solder joints are too weak: you'll have to break these joints and solder again. After this, glue gun silicone can be used for protecting the joints. Keep in mind that the order of the wires should be respected. Otherwise, you'll get unexpected behavior. Best regards from Colombia,Luis Miguel

Thanks Luis, I´ll solder on my own. I´ll give it a try. Where is the potentiometer located I have to fix? in the upper or the lower part? Update: It looks like you´ve given the right tip! I found one connector of the rudder to be broken. I´m currently on fixing this.

Thanks a bunch, Luis!! Rudder is working again. Everything so now working as it should.Without your idea I would never thought of that and the stick would be thrown away in the nearer future.
