AFCAD to repair my home airport

Featured Replies

My home airport (CYXX) has been given a dirt apron, along with some lovely dirt taxiways. In real life, there are 737's and such, using a paved apron.I used AFCAD to find and repair these surfaces, but I'm not sure how to save the work. Do I stick it in ADDONS/SCENERY? Or can I actually overwrite the original airport file? I saved my work to the ADDONS/SCENERY folder, made sure the scenery library had this folder selected, but my repairs did not apply. (Now there is a small little patch of pavement amidst a dirt apron!)Thoughts?Capherc

When you made the change and started flight sim, did it say something like "Compiling new scenery indexes" etc? If it did then your change was noticed by flightsim. You have it in the correct folder. Addon Scenery/Scenery. It usually gets saved as AFCAD2_CYXX.bgl. If you got the compilation message when starting flightsim but it still appears wrong then I would take a look at your AFCAD file again because you may have missed something. You have to double click on all the taxiway lines around the taxiway in questions and set it to concrete or whatever you like in the pop-up that is displayed.

And if you have a large apron you want to change, AFCAD can't do that yet. The workaround is to create a VERY wide closed taxiway the shape of your apron, and select the proper surface for that. It doesn't have to be connected to anything else (and probably shouldn't be).Hope this helps,--Tom GibsonCal Classic Propliner Page: http://www.calclassic.comFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.comDrop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___
