Recommended Posts

Hi everybody! I have now made it all the way to the old capital of Vietnam; Hue! Arrived at 2 am by train. 12 hours train ride! lol. Although vietnamese trains are amusing and you meet alot of people...... I still am looking forward to board a good ol' aircraft. Tomorrow I'm heading out to the DMZ, highway 9, Khe Sanh, the Ho Chi Mingh trail and who knows? Charlie Sheen? :oThats it folks. Cya around.ps. I see that the NGX still hasn't been released. Well, now you only have 13 days before I come home! ;)

When you get to Khe Sanh stop for a minute and look around maybe you can find my innocence I lost it there 43 years ago.

Thanks. I've used my army salary on this trip. Tommorrow I'm going to Hanoi by train.

I didn't search for your innocence (I first read the thread again now, after the trip.) But being at the actual Khe Sanh combat base was a very special experience. Since I know how much fighting took place there, and sadly also how many young men died there. Most, if not all in the tour group had never heard of it and just wandered around bored (after having seen the Bell 212 Huey, Chinook and a few tanks that is on display there). I was very moved to be there, and of course I went off track exploring the other side of the fence (I found a hole in it, hehe.) I walked along the intire landingstrip and went abit further around the area.
