Geez,I voice my opinion and get flamed for it. I certainly din't flame you. I just suggested that I was open to whatever the theories are (were) regarding the loss of our troops. And to ask you to show a little more manners to your fellow simmers. Of course I went to reply to your response, but as per, the thread was locked. You also cry about someone that had apparently insulted your Irish heritage, yet you mock Canadians with that old and so very used "eh" crap. Pathetic if you asked me. Why the double standard? What makes you special?I thought long and hard about what I wrote before I hit the post button. I wanted to voice my opinion on what had happened and maybe shed some light from a Canucks point of view. Perhaps you should do the same in the future.Yeah I'm kinda mad right now. I don't think I treated you unfairly, just asked you to show a little restraint. Apparently you don't do well with opinions and ideas of others. Maybe I should treat your posts the same way.Look, I don't wanna fight you here. I just wanted to know why our guys died for no reason. Whatever the theory, excuse, or otherwise explanation for what happened. Some of them were close friends of my family. And as for JMHO, you should know what it means as you use IMHO.CF-AOAKyle BatemanThere, I'm not hiding.

Fully agree with you.Joe only thinks he has the truth and nobody else.I like those people who state they always tell facts and the truth and flame other one's opinion just because it doesn't correspond with their's.He didn't even read a post from George full with link to articles etc. in another topic and answered to that post that it were just rumours. He always says he is open to accept some-one's opinion when they present facts.Well,he didn't even read it.Lucky for him ignoracne doesn't hurt.My condolences go out to their families and any-one who is affected by the death of those innocent Canadians.

Hi Ken,And if the topic stays sane, maybe it will continue here. :-)It is really quite simple. I am not sure if you even read the original post I made regarding th eincident. If you felt you were flamed, I apologize. I called you no names. Asa matter of fact, I called you sir. (you don't want to see what I originally wrote before I deleted it) jk ;-) It is no fault of yours that you are not used to my style of writing.Get over it.... ;-) (Just Kidding, relax dude) :-)Maybe I should use more of those little smiley things avsim has provided us, huh.I was not mocking, as I use eh' in quite a few normal conversations around the house. I don't believe Canada has the only right to say eh'Try Minnesota or Wisconsin, where I spoend time, for that is actually where I picked it up from.Reread my first post in that thread. I was very specific. And here is what I added on a similar thread at Flightsim, which was not locked. :-)(oh, mod squad...no harm, it;s your show, you can lock what you like. :-) )***********************http://www.flightsimnetwork.com/dcforum/DCForumID2/3389.htmlThis was in response to someone who talked about a theory of these charges being politically motivated.***********************Henderson, I disagree with you theory, but I understand it. I went back and did a little timeline study of past events and the charges in this case actually came quicker than others. The investigation was headed by a Brigadier General from Canada, and a BG from the United States. It is now up the Commanding General, Eith Air Force to review the charges and decide the next course of action.IMHO, this is more about a breakdown in the chain of command and violations of orders, according to the UCMJ. The fact that 4 innocent soldiers were killed was the result of those actions. The prosecution of these Airmen is so that others realize that orders have to be followed so that this tragic event does not happen again. There were other FF incidents in Afghansitan that appeared to be accidental. But it appears as you read the reports, that these men took additional steps that maybe most others would not have, or that there is precedant where similar incidents occured and ordinance was not dropped. If I was under fire, my first thought would not be destroy them, I would not go to a lower altitude, for height and distance equals safety. These pilots may have done different. So we will see what the outcome is, and based on what is coming out of Canada these days, I don't think a case like this will change foreign policy. Thanks for posting,Joehttp://home.attbi.com/~jranos/mysig.jpg http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif

Please read: http://ftp.avsim.com/cgi-bin/dcforum/dcboa...orum=DCForumID6You are so funny Joe,you are the one that should perform on Comedy Central.I was indeed wrong,he didn't provide any direct links, but he did give many many parts of articles,citates,... from various newspapers and other sources.Your answer to his post:"Hello george....Nice ground clutter....Blah....blah.....blah...blah...blah....blah.....Have a Day george,Joe"when you got some critic, you said:"To be honest with you, I didn't read his dribble since he called an irish insult at me in another thread. But I have read it now, so I can respond to your dribble."Isn't that strange Joe?You didn't even defend yourself to my post, you were only able to emphasise a little detail that he didn't provide any direct links.Maybe it's you who now needs to check the dictonary for "hipocrisy" Joe

Since you made this comment in public concerning the moderating of the forum, I just wanted to ask why the snide comments. It's been made clear by at least me in the past what these political threads often turn into and some here have proven that correct again. Rather than simply debating a subject, it turns into making little personal snide remarks about each other, which isn't welcome in the forums. Those threads were locked down and whatever you may think, I feel I give a lot of latitude to these sort of subjects.

(Q) What is the most dangerous type of fire (A) Friendly fireDuring Gulf war 1 The Americans killed more British soldiers than did the Iraqis. But not on purpose (they all look the same when covered by sand. What hapened to the Canadians was truely tragic and the men respomsible should be punished but war is a dirty business and in all fairness the Yanks are more than prepared to kill their own too.In fact it hapens with all armed forces, The Brits did in the Falklands, we all did in Vietnam the Israelis during tank battles the Ruskis in Chechnya by the hundreds so lets give Uncle Sam a break on this oneWe have samrt bombs we NEED smart bombers.Condolences to the CanadiansCookie

I agree Cookie,Friendly fire is a tragic event in any war. Can it be prevented. Well, they do have those little friendly beepers and identifiers, but not every vehicle has them.I am trying to think of the movie where the Tank Commander in the Gulf War advanced so much on the Iraqi Positions they couldn't tell who was who.He finally said everyone turn your light on. They did, and whammo, the rest of the Iraqi Tanks were taken out.Good movie, I know I'll remember it as soon as I hit send. Thanks for posting,Joehttp://home.attbi.com/~jranos/mysig.jpg http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif
