Re: NGX impending release: Are we there yet?

You can see the wings from the VC. It has been shown in one of the the screenshots. If I remember correctly, it has been stated that there will not be a virtual cabin.
Only a small section of the wings were modelled in the VC. It will not be as 'realistic' as the one we'll see from spot view or wing view, but you'll be able to see what a real pilot is able to see from the cockpit. Probably, from the cockpit you'll see wingflex, spoilers, flaps and slats and the wing lights as well. But don't worry, the actual wing in spot view has many more features than that. The virtual cabin will be there, but it's a very basic one, so that when you look the plane from outside, the cabin doesn't look empty. And the pax windows are now transparent.

all these things about it does not look empty. What exactly will be there. Iv seen the picture and can see the cabin from outside. Will there be people inside like the JS41 or just the cabin? Also about the beta when exactly do they announce it?Joe Barton

BETA won't be announced, until the NGX is actually in BETA
Please note that we aren't going to tell you about it until AFTER it happens... might be a few days, might be a few weeks... Either way, the announcement has nothing whatever to do with release dates, so it isn't that important.
For all we know, the NGX could be in BETA as we speak. I'm guessing the reason for this is if a big problem were to arise (with the installer, etc..) the can quietly fix it. That way, we would never know about it, and we wouldn't be as disappointed when BETA (as we know) takes a couple months..

You'll see seats through the window. In other addons you may have noticed that the windows were part of the texture of the plane's fuselage, but in the NGX they will be transparent and you now can see what is inside the cabin. And the beta phase will be announced as soon as the NGX actually enters beta. We are expecting it to happen this week.

Actually, this isn't true. Note this quote from RSR's post on page 13:

I know the window is transparent but will there be people inside like the JS41 or not? Because if not it will look even more empty!Joe Barton

The last time this issue was brought up they said that passengers won't be modeled because they were already bumping up against polygon limits.

I know it looks good, but seriously I really couldn't care for external visuals. Just a fully simulated aircraft will do me and PMDG always deliver on that front.

Sorry. I'll make a small correction:

FSX doesn't have a polygon limit like FS9 does, it just reduces performance too much.

I recently watched Air Crash Investigation on Turkish Flight 1951. It was a 737-800. Basically can we expect the same level of detail and customisation in failures of the aircraft. Like in this crash. Basically Captain Radio Altimiter was faulty showing -8. On approach kept getting Gear Up warning because plane thought it was on ground. Around final, throttles went Retard, no-one noticed and they crashed. Thanks

lol Yeah, well some people will blow up and get upset with others if they find out that something that was said wasn't EXACTLY correct. Kinda sad.
