April 1, 201115 yr The funniest part about the joke is that Kyle guy... Self proclaimed expert on the subject, using big words to try and show he knows what he is talking about when in fact he knows nothing on the subject because it is FICTION. Its all just a joke DC Centre relax.. no need to write an essay.Corey Prefontaine CYEG
April 1, 201115 yr Give Kyle a break. I think that, at first, everybody, including myself, believed that UNTIL reading that 'small text' at PMDG's website. At first I got disapionted because of the sudden delay, but then I got very happy that PMDG would be part of Boeing. I completely forgot today is April 1st. But then I went to PMDG's website and found out that all the "PMDG Simulations, a Boeing Company" thing was a joke and fell into reality again. I also thought "Why would Boeing buy a company that develops add-ons for a desktop flight simulator?" But Randazzo was talking so seriously that I thought "Why would he lie about it???". That was the master of the jokes I saw today, but I think that for some people that would have been too much. Matheus Mafra
April 1, 201115 yr Commercial Member Self proclaimed expert on the subject, using big words to try and show he knows what he is talking about when in fact he knows nothing on the subject because it is FICTION.Expert on what subject, might I ask? You'll note, I actually disclaimed what I wrote by saying I'm no lawyer.Look, I'll admit, I got nailed by the joke, and in assuming people above my post were writing in all seriousness, I wrote why their claims would be false. I apologize if I offended anyone, and I'm glad some got a laugh at my expense, but there's no reason to go dragging me around as if I personally attacked each of you.I'm not the nicest person around here, but really guys... April 1, 201115 yr I agree, give the poor guy a break. It was actually a really good synopsis if the Boeing/PMDG thing were true. Ethan Rayhorn My Office: (Taken at FL410)
April 1, 201115 yr Hi Kyle,Your not the only one to be had by Robert, He got me a few years ago and has gotten countless others as well. Its really not that big of a deal, all-in-all it took some of the tension off waiting for the NGX. I can assure you, I was not looking to drag you around, that was not my intention. If it was taken that way I apologize. Anyway, hopefully the NGX is just a stones throw away. Expert on what subject, might I ask? April 1, 201115 yr Mike, you are correct. It definitely released tension. But now it's over and I can't help but want the 737NGX that much more..
April 1, 201115 yr If Boeing was to become a controlling partner within PMDG, it would be a terrible loss to the non-professional flight sim community. Boeing would not waste their time/effort/capital as well as PMDG's talent on Microsoft aircraft, their focus would be on multi-million dollar simulators and/or other projects. PMDG's ability to develop aircraft for "ANY" non-professional flight sim product would not exist and we would lose a top-notch developer.I disagree. It assumes that if Boeing bought PMDG it would want to change direction and focus of its business. There are very well established names in the professional-commercial simulator market and I doubt pushing PMDG in that direction would make any business sense. It would also be a very risky. Now we are taking pure "IF" here because I see little value for Boeing adding PMDG to its portfolio so the whole question makes little business sens from the start. And I don't prescribe to any conspiracy theory that Boeing would buy in order to "kill it". Michael J.
April 1, 201115 yr What would happen is that Boeing would start designing planes based on FSX simulations, that stutter in flight, and then FSX would become the most realistic simulator ever.Boeing's preflight checklists would include UIAutomationCore and HighMemFix items too
