Another One For The Wall OF Shame

I had to place this one in the pilots lounge, It seems to foster a little peer pressure and a high dose of severe ribbing from the pilots to the offender! This method has cut down greatly on this type of hackage! :)

WOW! I'm guessing that the plane landed with the brakes on or locked the wheels after landing. Mike

I say it brings a whole new meaning to the word pre-Flight inspection if it was already worn at that point.have a day,Joe.Oshkosh Pictures From 2001 (Part 1) 78 Pics in Frames with 1mb in ThumbnailsHigh speed connection Recommended:http://home.attbi.com/~flypics1/FrameSet.htm.Oshkosh Pictures From 2001 (Part 2) 106 Pics in Frames with 1.5mb in ThumbnailsHigh speed connection recommended:http://home.attbi.com/~flypics2/FrameSet.htm.Picture Gallery of My Flight in a 1945 SNJ-6 on June 1st, 2002Joliet, Illinoishttp://home.attbi.com/~jranos/FrameSet.htm.http://home.attbi.com/~jranos/mysig.jpg http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif

That was a cross wind landing at KALB by a low time captain. I am proud to say she has not been a repeat offender :) Can you say, thump-thump-thump to the gate :-lol

My neighbor is a Mechanic Supervisor at ORD for AMR.He's shown me some pretty wild pictures before. It is amazing what an Airplane can take on Landing and still hobble to a gate, or the FBO. :-)Joe.Oshkosh Pictures From 2001 (Part 1) 78 Pics in Frames with 1mb in ThumbnailsHigh speed connection Recommended:http://home.attbi.com/~flypics1/FrameSet.htm.Oshkosh Pictures From 2001 (Part 2) 106 Pics in Frames with 1.5mb in ThumbnailsHigh speed connection recommended:http://home.attbi.com/~flypics2/FrameSet.htm.Picture Gallery of My Flight in a 1945 SNJ-6 on June 1st, 2002Joliet, Illinoishttp://home.attbi.com/~jranos/FrameSet.htm.http://home.attbi.com/~jranos/mysig.jpg http://avsim.com/hangar/air/bfu/logo70.gif

My respects go to the manufacturer of that tyre.A lesser breed would have failed catastrophically.

Yes , that is a Goodyear 22-6.75-10 ply recap! The company that does the recaps does a wonderful job. Every 4 tire changes , we send the rim out for overhaul to be stripped and eddycurrent inspected, also the bolts get magna flux inspected. This is one of my side dutys that I am not to fond of, but the nightshift guys insist that it is a day shift function. That parts washing fluid is a bear! :~P

Wow, Only every 4, Navy does it every tire change.(I can see it for the Tailhook guys, an average of 400psi per tire, slamming on the deck, But the rest of us maybe a little overkill? Though I suppose NDI fees are a little expensive. Also, we don't strip paint for eddy current on rims, Guess that's gotta be nice. Though I don't deal with any of it, not a squadron job.Enjoy learning the different ways maintenance is done. :-outtahttp://publish.hometown.aol.com/p3superb/images/675-2fs.jpg

Here's a shot of one of our 1900 mains, these are actualy kind of clean, but they can get pretty filthy. Reason # 574 why I should have taken the 20,000 I spent on my A&P licence, and got all my ratings. :) But then I would be sloging around in the crappy northeast weather with the pressurization MELd for 300 a week take home as a FO !
