I must be doing something wrong with the autopilot

Recommended Posts

So, here I am flying the Porter in FS9, 7 miles out, below the glideslope, on a 30 degrees intercept with APP mode selected and ALT deselected. The a/c intercepts the localiser but will it descend on the glideslope? No way - I've tried several times. On the assumption that approach mode now works OK in FS9 I must be doing something wrong but I just can't figure it out?Anyone care to help an old, but not bold, pilot :-zhelp David

Establish your intercept heading, then turn on APR. Leave the autopilot HDG and ALT buttons active, sit back, and "George" will do all the work. Except, you DO have to take over and land manually. :-)PaulAnother OLD pilot, but not a bold one :-)
