Hey guys,I'm planning to build a new system and would love to hear everyone's 2 cents about the components. The other threads were getting a little long, so I started a new topic.I use my system for photoshop and digital photography as well as flight sim.I will be adding SATA drives, HT Omega sound card, and DVD from my old system.New system:ASUS P8P67 Deluxe MotherboardEVGA GTX 570 Video CardIntel Core i7-2600KCorsair H70 CPU CoolerCorsair Vengeance 8GB (2 X 4GB) DDR3 1600 MemoryOCZ Vertex 3 120GB SATA III SSDMicrosoft Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bitCooler Master HAF X 942 Full Tower ATX CaseCooler Master 1000W Power SupplyInterested in thoughts about SSD. Buy it!SSD is a personal preference only. With FSX load times are very quick, once flying though then you don't really notice any difference. If you use one for the OS then your boot times will be quick, loading pics and starting apps will be quicker, but it's really up to you.

I have the same 120 Gb SSD on a new computer dedicated for FSX only. There is no other garbage on it but Win 7 64, FSX, LD646, PDMG 747 and flyTampa. I am already 1/2 full. Now what ever plane I or scenery I add will be about 50 - 200 mB, so I am good - I think. I know they are expensive, but I would go with a bigger SSD. I would like to delete all innecessary files in Windows but am scared to do so.

- move the paging file to another drive- disable hibernation- disable drive indexing for the SSD- if you recently installed W7 SP1 run a disk cleanup and make sure you select "service pack backup files"that should free up some 20 - 40GB

The only thing I'd change there is the PSU - 1kW is pretty overkill for a single GPU machine. You're good with a 750W and it'll save you quite a bit of money. Look at the Seasonic X series or the Corsair AX or TX series. (I have a Corsair 620W TX and it's actually more than enough) Get the lower wattage PSU and take some of that extra money to get the 240GB SSD - then you'll be able to fit Win7 + FSX on it no problem.

Thanks Ryan,Yeah, the reason I had that cooler master case and power supply was it was a package deal on newegg. I'll check out the other power supplies.What do you think about the new z68 motherboard that is coming out this week?Looks like I better get going on this new build. This new video from PMDG was unbelievable. Very anxious to get my hands on that 737ngx!I appreciate your input.Don

I haven't read much about the Z68 yet honestly - from what I understand it's going to allow use of the Sandy Bridge GPU while still being able to overclock, but I don't think that's much of a concern for a gaming system that's already going to have a far more powerful PCIe GPU installed...

I would say get the Z68 simply because it's newer and maybe they fixed some of the quirks and instability of the P67 boards. Aside from a couple extra features, it's essentially the same as P67. I have actually waited to swap by B2 board so that I could get a Z68.
