What is the best .air file for the CRJ?

Recommended Posts

Hello Gang!I've downloaded and installed the fabulous CRJ by POSKY, along with it's associated paint schemes. I've got nice CRJ sounds, a nice panel, and I'm ready to roll, except that the flight model is horrible, at least within FS2004.Can a good soul point me to an air file that's decent enough to use with the POSKY CRJ? I know FSPainter has one out there for their ai CRJ, but I'm not sure whether is good enough for actual flight. Thanks in advance!Sincerely,Dennis D. Mullert

Sincerely,

Yeah, I too would like to know. I'm using Posky's crj as well with Marco Spada's great panel. The only prob I see is altitude aquiring. The plane porpoises quite seriously while aquiring altitude. Adam

Find the appropriate sections and substitute these in the aircraft cfg file: Use the Falcon50 airfile.{flight_tuning} "use brackets instead"cruise_lift_scalar = 1.7parasite_drag_scalar = 1.8induced_drag_scalar = 1.8elevator_effectiveness = 1.5aileron_effectiveness = 1.2rudder_effectiveness = 1.0pitch_stability = 1.2roll_stability = 1.0yaw_stability = 1.0elevator_trim_effectiveness = 1.2aileron_trim_effectiveness = 1.0rudder_trim_effectiveness = 1.0{forcefeedback}gear_bump_nose_magnitude=6000 ; 0 - 10000gear_bump_nose_direction=18000 ; 0 - 35999 degreesgear_bump_nose_duration=250000 ; in microsecondsgear_bump_left_magnitude=6000 ; 0 - 10000gear_bump_left_direction=35500 ; 0 - 35999 degreesgear_bump_left_duration=250000 ; in microsecondsgear_bump_right_magnitude=6000 ; 0 - 10000gear_bump_right_direction=00500 ; 0 - 35999 degreesgear_bump_right_duration=250000 ; in microsecondsground_bumps_magnitude1=3250 ; 0 - 10000ground_bumps_angle1=8900 ; 0 - 35999 degreesground_bumps_intercept1=5.0ground_bumps_slope1=0.48ground_bumps_magnitude2=750 ; 0 - 10000ground_bumps_angle2=9100 ; 0 - 35999 degreesground_bumps_intercept2=0.075ground_bumps_slope2=1.0crash_magnitude1=10000 ; 0 - 10000crash_direction1=01000 ; 0 - 35999 degreescrash_magnitude2=10000 ; 0 - 10000crash_direction2=9000 ; 0 - 35999 degreescrash_period2=75000 ; in microsecondscrash_duration2=2500000 ; in microsecondsempty_weight_roll_MOI= 120774.00 //150774.000min_throttle_limit=-1.50 //-0.209900 //if you want reversers to back aircraftthrust_scalar =1.000 //1.1625Used the airfile from the falcon50 dated 3/10/2002 & 8.16kb in size (no revisions needed; just rename it)Just trim it up for takeoff.

I used the updated Falcon 50 air file and it seems to work pretty well. One issue I see though is that the pax door keeps opening whenever I shift from cockpit view to spot view. It appears that the door opening is assigned to the S key. Anyone see this problem?Shez
