Help! Capt Sim 727 gauge/sound trouble.....

Recommended Posts

I installed the Capt Sim 727 from CD-ROM into FS9 and it went fine. First flights went great too. But after a massive crash in FS2002 (which I still run) that then crashed Windows XP Home Ed, I find that the FO voices with speed, flap and gear calls have all vanished from Capt. Sim a/c. I reinstalled the a/c twice, but no joy. I cannot register to post on Capt. Sim website since I bought this from JustFlight, so I am posting here if anybody has any ideas. Strikes me as a possible gauge issue, but cannot see how to reinstal any individual gauges (or files) from setup.exe embedded within CD-ROM.I still have GPWS voices and all checklist voices OK, just missing all t/o and climbout voices from FO.Greatly appreciate any advice, help, etc, thanks!JS

Well, I figured it out for myself. After three hours of dicking around and uninstalling and reinstalling and checking voices here and there on the panels, I just moved the throttle levers to max forward to see if I'd get a voice response with brakes on. I heard "Three engines good" from the FO. This was a sign to me that since this is not the checklist procedure, the FO's voice might have been restored. I was correct!I lowered flaps and rolled and at 80 knots I heard "80 knots" from the FO and then all the remaining callouts through flaps up on climbout. It's worked ever since just right.Hooray! JS

Voices do not work on Capt Sim 727 UNLESS YOU ARE AT FULL THROTTLE!Stanner
