Weather d/l back & fairly accurate.

I've followed the recent "real weather d/l problems" and recent "burp" in the d/l accuracy posts. Have agreed. Seems we all just went through a period of an abnormal absence of reality in the weather reporting service. However, tonights flight was near 99 % !!Shuttle flight (imaginery) from KTTN (Trenton, N.J.) up to LaGuardia, NYC. Aircraft default 737, using FDC and and IFR plan (waypoints negated due to length of flight).Anyway, left Trenton in heavy snow and limited vis. - just above min's...... and approach into NYC was in / out of snow squalls with vis. from -0- to ~ 1 1/2 miles on final vectors ILS R/W 4.Have FDC set to give me control of aircraft on final at 800 ft. (AGL) "IF" vis. is above 2 miles....... and ...... I didn't get the call from my copilot ! Visibility was less than 1 mile....... snowing very heavily upon arrival. Didn't catch the runway threshold lights (sequenced inbound guide lights) until I was below 500 ft. - just as GPWS was calling min's......... Was ready to hit go-around in next second, or two......Although I accept the shortcomings of FS scenery as far as snow accumulation / drifts / plowed banks, etc., this approach - in the dark - was VERY real - IMO ! R/W was partially covered snow / ice - and I fully relied on FDC's help with autobraking and reverse thrust as I concentrated on the roll out steering...... Great flight - and made the mid-field turn-off - so landing wasn't too bad !After flight - called family near Trenton, and had business associate call me from NYC - he passed on flight out tonight from NYC, due to weather. Their reports of conditions matched what I flew in......So, sometimes - it Works !! FS scenery - on approach into R/W 4, with snow blowing - city lights all around - some spectacular "puckering" flight time.......Fun !Ron
