I've got real problems with my setup...When I run FSX after having used any other games, my frame rates are around 2 - 3 (two to three!!!).The ONLY way to correct this, is by removing and then correctly reinstalling the nVidia drivers. It's just crazy - never seen anything like it!Anyone got any ideas how to stop this apparent damage to my driver files?Doesn't seem to matter which driver version is installed.Specs in sig. Thanks

Do you run FSX with the same resolution as your Windows desktop?Same low fps if you toggle between windowed and full screen mode in FSX?Have you tried to use the UIAutomationCore.dll fix?Have you tried to setup up specific profile for FSX with nvidiainspector or nHancer?Did you install new nVIDIA drivers with the option of a clean install? Did you use driversweeper when installing older nVIDIA drivers?

Did you use driversweeper when installing older nVIDIA drivers?Tried both and always use Drivercleaner.

You say *any* other games - are youj generalizing or is it a specific game or two? It appears it is the other game problem. If you haven't, follow Nick's guide for setting up NVidia Inspector with an MS Flight Simulator X profile.I'm assuming that a general reboot does not help?Vic

Do you have a game-specific profile for FSX in nVidiainspector or nHancer? If not, it could be that the game you're playing does have a specific profile in the driver, and absent an FSX profile some setting is remaining in an incompatible mode from the last game.If you're not using it already, I highly recommend the free nvidiainspector utility.

I already answered most of that above. I do/use all those above.'All games' referes to all the other games I have installed; MoH Airborne, Crysis, Crysis-2 ans Sniper-Ghost Warior. That's only two different devs, but does mean it can't really be the actual games doing the 'damage'?I've never known anything like this before - bizarre!

You might also try completely powering down the PC, including turning off the power supply (if there's a switch on the back) or removing power from the wall socket. Just shutting down the PC normally leaves power to some components on most ATX motherboards. I had some occasional issues with my old 8800GTX that would cause the video card to go stupid, and that was the only way to kick it back into gear. Cold and warm reboots weren't enough--I had to get all power off the PC for about 20-30 sec to get the video card to reset.

Sadly Bob, it's not that. This has being going on a long time. The PC is powered down every night at the socket.Looking back, this has being happening a long time. Previously, I have done many FSX reinstalls, not realising it was a driver issue.I'm going to try rolling the drivers right back to the orriginal CD version to see what happens...

Hey RonJust thought I'd let you know, you may have just 'cracked' that one for me.It's early days yet, but since doing as you suggested, all is still well. It's always good to know you've helped I think.Sometimes it's all to easy to overlook the obvious, so thanks mate!

Hi Phil,In my experience, when it comes to computers, nothing is obvious, I'm certainly guilty of vanishing down the techno-babble rabbit hole and spending crazy days in computer wonderland.only to find the cat had chewed a wire.Hope it stays fine, but keep us informed either way, Ron.
