How to add airports to the FMC database?

Recommended Posts

Hello,I have experienced issues with the PMDG 747-400X and MD-11X FMC, where I type a certain airport's ICAO code in the FMC (To file a flight plan) and the FMC comes up with 'not in database'. I would appreciate any suggestions on how to fix this.

Thanks,

Kevin L

First check and make sure that you're not filtering those airports out with the option to exclude places with runways under a certain length - that's usually the cause of this.

Where can that option be found?

At the PMDG options menu. Look for Navigation Data, Database includes runways longer than XXXX.

Actually, I was trying to fly from Coffs Harbour, but I found that the ICAO code that is to be entered into the FMC is YCFS, not YSCH (The usual ICAO.) Thanks for your help.

Kevin,Usual ICAO on FS is not neccesary the correct ICAO code in real life. Coffs harbour correct ICAO is YCFS. Navigraph uses up to date ICAO codes. YSCH might be the old ICAO of the airport.
