What's a good payware RJ?

Recommended Posts

I've been looking to get a good regional jet simulator. I've got GA covered, and have the MD-11/747 to sort out long haul, and will have the 737 for relatively short/medium range flights after they fix the show stopping bug involving making hydraulic fluid flow at 0.37252356638cm/microsec rather than 0.3725333532 at a temperature of exactly 12.355232999028334C and so forth, however I'd like a good regional jet for the 30 minute to 1 hour flights. I have the JS41, and as it turns out I just am not a huge prop fan for anything that isn't my beloved accusim cub, lancair, or sr-22. Are there any good regional jets out there for purchase? I have an aversion to freeware, since in past experience, it tends to screw up the install. Bonus points for anything resembling PMDG fidelity/systems modeling. I just haven't been paying much attention to RJs lately. Thanks!-stefanedit: Oh jeez, I completely missed this thread, even though I checked: http://forum.avsim.net/topic/337523-qualtiy-small-comercial-aircraft/That pretty much answered my question, but feel free to debate in here as well I guess, unless someone decides to delete this.

Two best bar none. EJets VNAV is spot on.http://www.wilcopub.com/simulator-add-on/e-jets-series.htmlERJ VNAV is also spot on. Trash. Not unlike the real airplane. :Big Grin:http://www.wilcopub.com/embraer-regional-jets.html

Unfortunately, the best regional jet for FS is one that is only available for FS9, that being the Supronov Design Yak-40, and it's a frame rate hog even in FS9. The CS 737-100 might be a good contender when it shows up.Al

I second that! In FSX I just love the Ejets and Ejets V2 http://www.wilcopub.com/catalog/product/view/id/5696/s/e-jets-v2-embraer-175-195/category/4/I also spoke to Air Canada E-190 Pilots from Montreal to Halifax to discuss my knowledge of the Wilco E-jets and I was pleased to discover that the the way I fly it and make use of VNAV is pretty much the way they do it as well. I also fly the J Rollon X-plane CRJ 200 which is also a great add on but the Wilco CRJ series is quite old. Because of Wilco I have discovered a greater love for the Embraer E-jets than the Bombardier CRJ's and AIr Canada Pilots also like it better as it was told to me by 2 separate flight crews!Check out my video if you are interested: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OGL-fVp3kygI hope it is ok to post this in this forum.

+1 for the Yak 40! Never found frame rate an issue with it. Very good if you like Russian birds. Just about everything is modeled, including all isolation switches (circuit breakers).Best regards,Robin.

The erj v2 series is a good buy. It offers the XR as well which is a nice touch. Most things which are done in the real aircraft on a normal ops flight can be done in this simulation. I have some gripes with it. The gust lock is totally wrong. Thrust on the ground is a little off aswell but i think that might be an fsx thing. An example of somethigs one can do in this simulation is the ice tests. I get mixed outcomes of them though so it may be operator error at times. Fms is nice with the usual updateable airnav. Systems are nice but like i said before, there are some things that are not simulated correctly or not simulated at all. After having quite a bit of time around and in the real aircraft and the level d sims.....its the best simulation of the aircraft for fsx.

I totally recommend Wilco/Feelthere ERJ v.2. It is really well done, and is so much fun to fly. Check it out: ERJ v.2
