Getting back into simming

Hello,After a long hiatus, I'm getting back into simming. The setup that I'm thinking o putting together consists of:- Intel i5 2500k (looking into OC)- Asus P8P67 Pro Rev. 3- 4GB X 2 PC3 16000 RAM- SSD for FSX- 750W or 850W depending on card selection(s).I'm a little confused as of which video card I should be getting. I'm planning on doing eventually a 3 monitor setupand probably would be going the TH2GO route. So based on those factors what would my best choice be for a video card?These are the options based on my budget.- NVidia GTX 480- NVidia GTX 560 Ti- Nvidia GTX 570Thanks in advance for any input. I have read the different post regarding these cards except on the GTX 570.

Glad to see you back. FSX is really coming into its own with the SandyBridge platform and all the cool sceneries from ORBX and great planes like the RealAir Duke Turbine.Anyway you will want to get the 'k' version of the 2500 and OC it (easily and safely) to 4800ghz or more. Don't worry about the OC as SB excels at OClking and makes it simple. That said you will want to spend the extra $50 to get a 580 (any brand will do) and OC it to about 875 core (which most if not all 580s will do). The reason is that you want a card that will handle everything that the CPU / MB can pump to it. SB / 580GTX is a sweet combination.Good Luck!jja

+1 , he will be running 3 monitor at high resolution also, so a GTX 580 is the way to go, a 3GB and he will be in heaven with high AA. About 3D monitor... eeeeeeeeeee

Hi Alan - what have you been up to these days? Have you heard from Steven lately? I haven't seen hide nor hair of Bojote lately either. I figure that he got pulled ($$$) into the MS Flight project. If so it would be a good thing because it is going to take a miracle to pull it off IMO.Anyway, back to the OP - I think that a 580 is the only way to go with the exception of a 590 with MS Flight in mind. If I could have 1 more thing for my 580 it would be 2 or 3 gig mem.Cheersjja
